Press Conference Takeaways:

1. UNLV'S GOT THE CHEEEEESE TO PAY-OFF THE $2.5 MILLION BUYOUT, AND COMPETE WITH ANY PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY FOR SALARY

2. NO SEARCH FIRM (THANK YOU LORD)

3. COACHES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY SLOBBERING OVER OUR JUICY FACILITIES

AWWWWWWWW F*CK YEEAAHH!

Rebels18 Takeaways:

1. He believes that they have the money to compete with the SEC.

2. He believes there’s a search firm that would actually take the job at this point.

3. He believes that college coaches care about Raiders facilities with juice and slobber on them.

4. He thinks UNLV is going to have a 5th winning season since 1988, soon.

All excellent takes.

Stupid analysis. It’s dumb fans like you that have to use a 3 year record against a coach that had to get a dumpster fire program going. Typical dumb UNLV fan that can’t see progress like a good bookie would, and to you, firing and hiring over and over is the answer. No one worth a damn is going to want that job because UNLV is perpetual dysfunction.

For the record I was not a fan of the Arroyo hire from the start. It was obvious he was not going to be successful here, and he wasn't.

UNLVs lack of success is on the admin and staffs.

Only idiot internet msg board posters like you think blaming the fan base is a valid argument.

Wins come first. Especially in a place like Vegas. You're clueless.

Harper directly said whoever it was, it would be someone who already has HEAD COACH experience as he doesn't want someone on a learning curve to take control. He wants to win immediately.

No more coordinators, get a guy that knows what it takes to win.

and not fuggin' harsin

A new coach should be able to come in and win immediately.

Anyone using 2020 in stats or anything else is being disingenuous. 2021 was back to somewhat a sense of normality.

Doesn’t matter, we paid Arroyo 1.5 million in 2020. When you pay him that kind of cheddar, results matter. He wasn’t brought in to do a 5 year rebuild.

UNLV is not going to accept mediocrity, 5-7 and a possible Bowl game is not enough. UNLV is making risky moves to elevate the program to the next level.

Meanwhile Reno (Natty-less and Cannon-less) is going to dick around with Wilson for the next 2-3 years. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Harper wasn’t impressed with Reno getting nearly 500 yards and a win. A catch away from a 7 game slide. Hard to argue with Harper’s logic here. Arroyo has an easy buyout, costs UNLV peanuts to make this move. He might go back to Oregon as OC, which UNLV pays Arroyo one month salary.

Easy decision for Harper.

Arroyo was the 7th highest paid coach in the MWC.

That's not cheddar - its Velveeta.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Even funnier would be if it was Harsin and lowly UNLV beat your ass with him. That is almost worth the price of admission.

Unless Harsin is bringing the entire Auburn Football team with him, I say he’ll no!
