No assistant or head coach is going to wait to their season is over unless you are going for a legitimate championship fcs or fbs. Mike Stoops is not going to say "please wait till after the music city bowl so our players aren't distracted".

Yup, At worse they are going to be named beforehand but the coach stays on the team to just finish out the bowl game for their players.

UNLV needs to get on it with at least official names getting out onto who is being looked at and interviewed. Surprised there’s like no official names being talked about getting an interview yet. Besides “rumored” guys to have interest like Sumlin, Williams and Stoops

It could be Troy Taylor who is still in the playoff at Sacramento State. He would be a good choice actually.

TODAY IS A FINE DAY FOR UNLV FANS TO BE IN A HEAD COACHING SEARCH, EVERY DAY IS A FINE DAY FOR A HEAD COACHING SEARCH WHEN YOUR HEARTS ARE SET ON DOING YOUR DUTY

ORGERON AND PETERSEN WERE NOT UP TO THE TASK, THEY RAN AWAY LIKE CHICKENS FROM THE POT. LEAVE THOSE COWARDS HOWLING IN RETIREMENT

THE AUSPICES HAVE BEEN TAKEN, AND GODS BE PRAISED, NOTHING COULD BE FOUND TO DENY US VICTORY THIS DAY! WITH SUCH PORTENTS, WE MUST ONLY WAIT FOR URBAN MEYER AND GARY PATTERSON TO DESCIDE WHO HAS REAL STOMACH FOR THE GLORIOUS POSTION AS THE HEAD COACH OF UNLV FOOTBALL!

SO LET YOUR BATTLE CRY BE, VICTORY! VICTORY! AND GLORY TO UNLV!

Cincy didn’t have to wait. You tell the coach now or never and move on if they aren’t interested. No waiting. Now or never!

if you are negotiating contracts with Bob Stoops or Urban Meyer or Chris Petersen, we can wait.

“If.” A two letter word that bears the weight of possibility and our wildest peyote visions.

Mike Stoops turned down Harper. Sticking with his brother in Kentucky.

Jay Hill might get the gig. Interviewed with Harper.

if the Stoops thing is true, good for UNLV.

Jay Hill or Troy Taylor would be interesting gets. Solid lower subdivision coaches that are trying to take their coaching experience another step up. At least they have HC experience even if it’s a step down from the FBS

Jay Hill’s definitely done a good job at Weber.

I’m pretty pissed it’s taking this long and for who? Unknown Hauck or Arroyo types again.

Well, Bobby Hauck did a good job in Montana..

Exactly. Unless Weber St. was a total dumpster fire or rebuild when he got there it means nothing. Taking over even a decent program doesn’t seem to cut it in preparing you to be HC at UNLV.

Hill took over a program that had a (4-19 record) over the prior two seasons (2012-2013) and made them a .500 or better team by his second season (6-5 record in 2015) with the following 2016 year ending up ranked nationally (#24/25) in the FCS at (7-5 record) with an invite to the FCS Playoffs. Where the program continued to grow from there with a handful of Top 10 FCS Ranking finishes and FCS Playoff appearances

Seems like a decent coach and wasn’t given a program that was used to getting to the FCS Playoffs every season
