The Aztecs let this one get away from them. Did Mensah foul out? If not why wasn’t he in the game the last few possessions in regulation for defense and rebounding?

Fouls out in regulation.

Damn, that sucks. I don’t know what that guy was thinking fouling up 4 with 00:13 left?!?

That and losing the ball a few seconds later. Even then he should have called timeout when he was double teamed with no outlet. The kid went brain dead.

The Aztecs lack defense, rebounding, and shot making down the stretch to be a threat in March.

Also, this team like last years, finds ways to lose games as opposed to making plays to win them.

The loss did little to their national standing. However, the way they’ve been losing big games the last two years is a problem. They’ll still plow through the MWC because they’re bigger and much more talented than everyone else. The question will be will they fold in the Dance.

They have the whole season to get better. Too much hero ball at the end of the games.  The little point guard Trummel or something like that made some good plays and had some really good passes but forced too many tough shots at the end.  But as soup said.  They are going to pummel the mountain west.

Choke as usual.

Good luck in that tough upcoming game against Sam Houston State.

edit: Actually I see they’ve beaten Oklahoma and Utah so they’ll probably win.

Hopefully, these last 2 games will be good teaching moments for these types of moments down the road.

Not sure there was much to learn from Arizona other than how good they were but they definitely should have won last night. I thought being the more experienced team would carry them through. The two instant fouls against Mensah definitely hurt. No excuse for the end of regulation.

You should always learn from your failures whether it’s an arse kicking or a nail biter.
