The result was partially due to Brazil arrogance. Played like it was all but over after the Neymar goal.

Dominate the game and lose. Is there another game like soccer where that is the result. Defend for 90 minutes, get one breakaway and win 1-0. 

Also, why have shootouts, what a stupid way to decide a game. It’s like the NBA having a free throw shooting contest in OT. Just keep playing until someone makes a goal.

have an extra time where you try to score kind of like a normal game, and if that takes too long, just try to make the simplest score in a set piece?

Brazil gives up a tying goal in extra time. Argentina gives up a tying goal at the end of added time. We'll see if Argentina can avenge themselves, but based on how their bench looked at the final whistle, they look rattled.

That was great execution on the set piece by the Orange, but what a stooopid foul.

I didn’t see the match but if I’m reading correctly the Netherlands subbed in a player who went on to score about 5 minutes later. He then scored the tying goal in extra time? Insane.

Messi is all class. However, at least against the Dutch, Argentina's goalkeeper was not.

Easy for me to say I guess but the Netherlands coach used a keeper who had zero international experience until the World Cup and it showed on the penalty kicks.

The World Cup can sometimes be tedious but I can't recall how long it's been since two NFL playoff games on the same day produced the kind of drama we saw today. England-France figures to be the same tomorrow. Maybe even Portugal-Morocco although I have a feeling the latter side is going to succumb to the pressure of the knockout round.
