No secret I think we belong in the MWC, and if this year is anything to go by the top 6 Big Sky teams stack up quite well vs the MWC

Not sure how 2 victories over sub .500 teams validates 6 teams, but whatever gets you thru the day...

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

This coming from a team that struggles in the Big 12. Instead of worrying about Gonzaga, he should worry about UCF's shit basketball.

Showcase?  BYU, UCF and Houston will be lucky to win 3 conference games.

Combined or individually ?

Mmmkay.

Ten teams to play against, nine Conference games per season means you don't play one team for two years, then they are in the rotation for 18. Not that hard.

You can't have an odd number of conference games and an odd number of teams.

Why not?

If you multiple an odd number by an odd number you get an odd number. An odd number is not divisible by two (at least in the whole number sense). To determine the number of conference games: multiply the # of teams by the # of games and divide by 2.  11 x 9 = 99.  99/2 = 49.5. You can't have 49.5 total conference contests. 11 teams x 8 games = 88. 88/2= 44 total conference games.

I get you math.

However, you overthink it

Simply put, in an 11 Team League, you have ten opponents. You play teams 1-9 for two years. Year three and four, you play teams 2-10, then 3 through 10 and 1, etc.

Not to hard

You haven't taken bye weeks and in season OOC games into consideration.

Wilner babbles about SMU to PAC from time to time.  He is now lately saying that San Diego State is an XII candidate.  That is no state secret at all.

Read On

minor tidbit...

Assuming they sign the agreement, Brigham Young, Houston, Cincinnati and UCF are now bound to the conference until 2031.

They are off the market for the Pac-12.

When many people thought they would take a cut, I will take a decent raise.  And with the exception of Kansas, Tier 3 wasnt worth all that much.

Nobody is going to come close to the Big 2.  Being #3 is ok.

revenue wise maybe but not having tier 3 rights to the schools will really hurt BYU even more so than KU. BYUtv has been BYU sports thru independences. That is a massive loss that is still worth it for the B12 invite. Not playing around the country is another lose but again it’s worth it for a major conference.

plus the Pac12 might be able to steal 2 Big 12 schools if the Pac12 deal is for more money

B12 will have a grant of rights. So if OU and Texas aren’t leaving because of it, I don’t see the other teams leaving the B12 early either.

Wilner likes to forget Boise State on purpose. No new news here.

^^^this I do not understand re Wilner.  He's usually very open minded.  Perhaps he is too locked into the California system itself to really be open minded.  He was the one who broke the news re USC/UCLA and that happened for a reason.  A mouthpiece for PAC central.

Very unlike Brent Zwerneman who covers Texas A&M everything breaking the news re Texas & Oklahoma to SEC July 2021 when Aggy was supposed to be the last to know and they were.  Otherwise Nick Moyle who well covers Texas-Austin really well or Barry Tramel of the Daily Oklahoman would have spilled the beans long before July 2021.

Super hush-hush re Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC.

No hush-hush at all re PAC matters and Wilner.
