The combined record of the schools SJSU played is 9-10 and they struggled to beat mighty FCS Portland St. You're not wrong, though I would say that when your team lays a rotten egg and you still find a way to WIN it even though you should have lost statistically (except for turnovers which saved their butt), it counts for something and does say something positive about the team. Auburn is not the scourge of the SEC by any stretch of the imagination, but they are still an SEC opponent and to lose by only 8 on the road (and leading at halftime) made up for a lot of the stench of the PSU game.
