EZRebel
It’s good to see the Rebels doing well with all the conference alignment talk. They have been a doormat too long and the facility, player and coaching investments are starting to pay off. The timing couldn’t be any better for a positive future with the program. To be successful, we'll need a Sugar Daddy to fund our NIL $$$ to buy UNM the best athletes available from the transfer portal for years.

Not far off but need to stay the course. This is year 2 of DG era. 2020 never happened. Problem with problem programs is not taking the time to build anything. Give him his full contract. UNM has the fans, just no reason for fans to come out to see bad ball. Who would know better than us. Things are changing at both programs as well as the entire conference it seems.

That's the problem here though. UNM has a small base of about 15k hardcore football fans, the rest are fair weather, not really invested, casual football fans, that would rather spend their money at the 5 local casinos in and around Albuquerque, than spend it on a losing football program. Although, unlike basketball, the patience meter for football is ok for now. Danny needs the full 5 years to set the foundation... Danny needs to fire the OC and find someone that has both a good offensive scheme, and one that can finally recruit a good QB to come here. UNM has not had a good QB for far too many years. And unfortunately, I see Danny having to look again, in the transfer portal, for yet another 2nd string QB graduate transfer from a P5 school to run the team next year.

Fans will come to see a winning program. Sorry but need to start winning first. I know nothing about your offense but with a little more passing it could be successful. Once again QB, OL and receivers. The Portal can be your friend. It’s the Admin that need to take the heat off of the program and tough it out a few more years. DG is a perfect fit for ALBQ for the long term. Now just need to see if he is the right guy. If you win… and are selling beer at the games the fans will show. It’s just a matter of where they can get the best bang for their buck. Good luck

Gotta wonder what type of influence he has on the offense because it sure seems like he does. He just needs to do the defense and let DG bring in a good OC that will open it up. Rocky is a great coach but needs to evolve his offensive philosophy. It has really limited the potential of his teams.

UNLV was worse than New Mexico two years. Now they’re better!

Easier to recruit to Las Vegas than Albuquerque. And although I have no idea what your NIL offers are to your players/recruits, I would bet dollars to donuts, that the enticements to go to Vegas are much better than here. The top UNM players here could easily be bought off to take the transfer portal route to other places that have money to offer them, like UNLV. I wouldn’t be surprised at all by that. You can turnaround a program immediately. USU won the conference last year in the first year of their new coach and Logan isn’t exactly an oasis for football talent to flock to.
