Now is our chance to hire the first woman, gay, trans, BIPOC or indigenous commissioner in league history. Make it happen, presidents!

One of these is not the same as the others. Dickhead.

An indigenous commish would be rad. Especially since every MWC school is on land stolen through the violence of western expansion.

Everyone knows Geronimo was a badass basketball player, too.

DO IT!!!!!

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

To all you Hair Haters, you're short sighted. Is it his fault the Presidents and AD's of most these Schools made shitty Coaching hires, under funded their Athletic Departments, or couldn't see the value of adding Schools from Texas ?

The MWNetwork was ahead of its time. It would work now in a streaming world. It couldn't work in a linear cable world.

He literally saved the MW when he short circuited "The Project" and invited Fresno, Nevada, and Hawaii into the Conference on short notice. He sealed the fate of the WAC with the Sparty-Utag invite.

Hw saved the PAC and MW with the new CFP.

A Commish can only accomplish what the School Presidents allow him to.

His job as what is essentially the Executive Director for a Board was to also illuminate prospects, potentials, and risk aversion.  He was supposed to gain cohesion on vision, analyze opportunities and bring multiple options with pros and cons and recommend paths forward.  He was the voice of the cumulative and that is a two way line of comms, where if he wasn't given anything to say should have reached back to the presidents to either request input or to suggest messaging.  The fact that he was rarely vocal, the conference was only reactive, and that only the PAC may be a more lethargic conference says that our schools presidents were timid, and that he was a limp-wristed suit who didn't proactively get us anywhere.  In other words, he was by and large, useless.

Craig Thompson doesn't want to piece together MWC 3.0 (again after the Pac 12 inevitably poaches schools).

He's leaving before he has to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Thompson had a good run and now the 3.0 vision will be up to the new person.

I think the WCC commish would be a good choice. She has a great record.

The Big Sky commish could also grease the wheels with MWC expansion options (most notably the Montanas and Cal Davis)

Calm down with the Project credit. You don’t gotta be Stonewall Jackson to look around and invite the two next best programs in your region. “Hey, you want to make more money in a better conference and be with your rivals?Come follow Boise, play UNLV and SDSU. Or stay with NMSU and Idaho.”

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.
