27 games left. Maris has held the American League record for 61 years.

He is a damn stud.

I remember watching him in the  Regionals at Jackie Robinson (best baseball venue I’ve ever been) against Irvine.  He was impressive then, but I can’t say I thought he was the next McGwire.  I didn’t see that coming.

If he gets to 62 I consider him the single season home run champ of all time. Everyone that has hit more than that was juiced.

A lot of people feel that way. Fair enough, I just disagree. The accomplishment is good enough to stand on its own. No need to denigrate Bonds, Mac or Sosa any further. They lied, but they didn’t break the rules. That’s baseball’s fault. That asterisk probably took years off Maris’ life.

What Judge is doing is amazing in itself without tearing anyone else down.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Sure hope Judge stays "unjuiced".

Fair enough but they hit them off juiced pitchers too. Everybody was on the crank.

Crazy that a .316 average is leading the American League.

.301

Carl Yastrzemski's . 301 in the 1968 American League was the lowest batting average ever to lead a league.

I had forgotten about Cabrera as well

To be fair, everybody forgot the 2012 Tigers. Even Detroit fans.
