Close enough.

No, that's not how this works. Gas-only cars won't be sold, but hybrids will 100% be allowed and sold. Which, again, is in line with what most auto manufacturers have been saying are their goals as well.

What auto manufacturers want is irrelevant to the reality of the grid. The numbers of EV’s expected to be on the road isn’t going to happen. You don’t seem to realize how impossible this is. It’s hard enough to replace fossil fuel generation requirements that CA has to meet to meet for future load without the future EV’s adding to the load. You also have the climate heating up, right? There’s going to be more record heat waves in the future to require more load plus the increasing population.

Then when you finally spend a gazillion to make that happen which also requires decades of time, then you have to spend even more money and time delivering it. It’s pie in the sky bullshit.

Let’s don’t forget the time and money it takes just to permit new transmission lines and fight the environmental lawsuits. 5 to 10 years to permit a single line is not unusual.

So what's your alternative? Just sit on our hands, not change a thing, and let everything keep getting worse and more polluted?

they have no solution. They won't even acknowledge any problems going on.

Just denials. Non stop. like little toddlers  saying "no".

Just continue to  burn plants from 200 million years ago and say the incredible amounts of CO added daily  to the atmosphere is nothing.

" Earth can handle it"!

I mean, just in this stupid forum we see hard core denial morons like robe and Bob. 2 guys who need an aluminum softball bat hit to the cranium to wake up.

I'm completely in favor of it.  Nuclear plants, PG&E having to modernize, and desalination has to be the future for California

And California has the unique ability to do it if the voters got on board.  You guys have money, resources and talent other states only dream of.

I couldn’t agree with you more. As a nation, though, we need to figure out the waste disposal problem if we’re going to reinvigorate nuclear power. It’s an image problem for nuclear power when used rods are sitting in pits in sight of San Clemente residences.

Yeah, nuclear has an optics problem that is not going away soon.  The public buy in will be the issue.  Deep geological repositories are the answer.  Move the waste every 10 years or so.

Good to see the US under Biden set a global standard for cutting emissions but the demand for energy is only going to increase.   Need a combination of nuclear, renewables and geothermal/hydro electric where it makes sense.  We can't reach our goals otherwise.

Colorado short on power, too. This "green" energy bullshit is not working so well.

Build some damn coal and gas power plants. geezus

The answer is and always has been nuclear power. Coal and gas plants are a thing of the past.

They’re still needed until we can fire up new nuke plants and that doesn’t seem to making much headway.

we don't need coal anymore.  Just too many advantages to natural gas as both primary and backup energy sources

Duuuuuhhhhh..... Why do you have the fantasy that the radioactive waste is not a problem?

You don't care about future human life?

Say you are an ignorant fool without saying it.  lol.  Nuclear waste is not even close to an issue regarding human safety.  How many +++++in' peer reviewed papers do you need linked to it?

We’ve had the answer for decades. Yucca Mountain is still sitting there. The project’s most powerful political opponent in the state is gone. Give us that sweet, sweet nuclear garbage money.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Fine with me.  Idaho has a great many areas to locate a deep repository lol.

Nuclear waste is far less problematic than the waste from toxic turbines and solar panels which require about thousands of times the area to store (not an exaggeration)  per unit.  Fact below

How much is there? If all the nuclear waste from U.S. power plants were put on a football field, it would stack up just 50 feet high. In comparison to the waste produced by every other kind of electricity production, that quantity is close to zero.
