Here’s a blast from the past. The Kawasaki 750 that I used to race back in the early to mid 90’s has been stashed away. I peeled off the factory stickers and started with a plain white ski, and just came up with a design that follows the ski’s natural lines. I used House of Color for the paint and used a DuPont Centuri clear coat. Budweiser was the national tour sponsor and we always had to have a Bud sticker on. So I clear coated over it and made it permanent.

It’s a full blown modified class ski. 750cc and puts out about 125 hp, and has a weight of about 275 lbs. Good times, sunk a ton into it. The prop and engine porting is focused on low to mid range speed acceleration, but it tops out at 60 mph. Jet ski’s don’t have gears, so the power band is important. My sponsor was Jetcraft Engineering in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Count the legs.

Well, unless it’s a larval stage tick, it has eight legs, just like spiders. Regardless, that masterpiece screams “Spider”.

Nice paint job. For some reason I always thought the 650 was the best Jet Ski Kawasaki put out because of the ease of throwing it around and still have the power. But that thing is badass!! I wouldn't mind picking one up in excellent condition. They were a blast to ride. Are you planning on keeping it?

Yeah, too nostalgic to sell. There was the 300, 440, 550, 650 and 750 for stand ups. They recently came out with a 4 stroke stand up that’s totally clean. But it’s even bigger than the 750 to handle the heavy motor.

The 300 was a joke. The 440 and 550’s were the smallest hulls. The 650 was bigger and rounder, and the 750 is longer than the 650. I’ve always been too big for a 550, those are small and light to throw around.

I feel lucky to get out of that sport with no permanent damage. Some people ended up paralyzed from the neck down. The race start is just like motocross, everyone goes full speed to get the holeshot and about 16 skis converge at the first turn at 50 to 60 mph, and there’s so much water in the air you can barely see, and lots of crashes. If you go down, stay under and wait for everyone to pass by because you don’t want the front ski tip in your neck or head.

There’s a similar story behind my crude spider too.

Surprised you didn't slander someone in this thread as well.
