The man who wrote the OJ book that inspired the awesome tv show doesn’t deserve to be flogged in public like this.

The book was excellent. Particularly the part where he discusses the first meeting of the Dream Team in Robert Shapiro's conference room. According to the book, at that meeting months before trial, Shapiro suggested a strategy of playing what later became known as the race card. Then when Johnny Cochran played the race card after the prosecution rested, Shapiro quit the Dream Team, allegedly because he thought it was outrageous for Cochran to have used it.

Shapiro, who was known to settle almost every case he ever had because of his purported insecurity with litigation, later went on to form Legal Zoom. That and his penchant for somehow seeming to finagle representing celebrities made him a very rich man. Wealthy enough that if Toobin misrepresented what occurred in Shapiro's conference room, Shapiro would have undoubtedly have had the financial wherewithal to finance a lawsuit against Toobin for libel.

Nobody on that defense team comes off well in that book but Shapiro is clearly the worst. Once others took his spotlight he seethed.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Licht is cleaning house at CNN trying to get rid of hopeless partisans and get back to more balanced straight news of the old days at CNN. Some will be harder to get off the payroll than others, but this was an easy dick to retire. Rumors are that he’s looking to show off his cock skills on Jackass Forever 2 due to hit theaters in early 2023.

When OJ won, we all won. He ran through the prosecution like he ran through defenses.
