The price of socks dropped but the cost to feed your family went up 13%.  Congrats!

This is a stupid take by the administration.  Good thing he is a democrat or the media would them alive for this.

People are struggling to get by and the administration is basically saying it isn't happening, everything is fine.

lol born. you bought a house decades ago when prices were low. you live in a place with well subsidized education, in a field with well subsidized health care benefits.

You only think it is worse because you have had the extreme privilege to be shielded from the big 3 cost increases for the last two decades. Only now, as something you actually see the price of rises, do you squeal bloody murder.

That's a big part of why so many younger professionals on here struggle to take you seriously. You didn't care until it was something that affected you, personally, and as soon as it did, you won't shut up about it. Your concern for whether the country as a whole is struggling seems to be only as deep as your own pocketbook. It reads as EXTREMELY disingenuous.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Economic inequality has been getting worse since at least the 80s. The gap between rich and poor has been widening my whole life. Inflation is obviously an issue but middle class white people having to eat chicken instead of steak is not a struggle. If you’re concerned about poor people you should probably support different policies than the ones you do.

it's sure distributed weird even at the grocery store. I mean... I get that a lot of it is due to the cost of corn, wheat, and coffee futures from 20 months ago, and a lot of it again from increased fertilizer costs from last planting season, and everyone I listened to said "meat and wheat and coffee are gonna be a lot more expensive in a year" and sure enough they were right. Commodity prices go up, consumer expenses go up, not too hard to track.

but it doesn't change the connotative dissonance at steak and baked goods going way up while rice isn't.

Dude, just STFU already. This is one of the dumbest posts this year. Are you really trying to say that the inflation and high prices on EVERYTHING isn’t happening and he doesn’t have the right to complain about it just because he bought a house a long time ago? This reads as COMPLETELY stupid.

I think they use the same ones every time. They don't change very often.

So what you’re saying here is that you’re not good at counting/simple math, or with money, too. Mmhmm…

Please tell me about the magical time in our country’s history when people weren’t struggling to get by.

I’m 41. At 18 I made minimum wage and paid for my own 1 bedroom apartment on campus with a full view of Bronco stadium. I could pay my bills and have a few dollars to play with.

That’s what struggle used to be..  you couldn’t rent a tent in someone’s back yard on minimum wage now.

That is a lot of assumptions for happyidiot to make about me. That is why I won't engage with him on this forum, he will not engage in good faith, and is completely dishonest.

I have had a tough road to get where I am at,. Maybe, happyidiot had it worse, but I don't make assumptions like he does.
