How in the hell could someone have attorney client privilege or executive privilege over documents that have absolutely no private consultation with the former president?  How in the hell do documents about nuclear secrets or other sundry classified information even have anything to do with this at all?  The government isn't allowed to read their own documents that they produced?  Those documents should be able to be released to the DOJ almost immediately...the special master should release those immediately and not hold them hostage until every last shred of any document is gone through.

The Justice Department filed a notice with US District Judge Aileen Cannon, the Trump-appointee who ordered the special master, announcing its intent to appeal her decision.

The Justice Department had vigorously opposed the appointment of a special master, which is a third-party attorney tasked with reviewing evidence and filtering out privileged documents. The department argued to Cannon the independent review wasn't necessary, given the internal DOJ filter practices that had been used in the search. Prosecutors argued it would impede both the criminal investigation into the handling of documents from Trump's White House and national security risk analysis being conducted by the intelligence community.

No guarantee of success, but I’m glad DOJ intends to appeal, I.e., if parts of her order aren’t suspended.  Judge Cannon is way out of line with her ruling. In fact, I think we need to get her an honorary orange spray-on tan. She seems like the type that would wear it well…

Btw, every pundit I've seen interviewed on CNN and MSNBC (no. Bob, I DON'T watch FuxNews anymore) has said that appellate district covering Florida has historically been one of the two most conservative in the country.

It looks like Trump's lawyer's are going to try to muddy the waters to say the documents are only "purportedly classified."  My suggestion for the DOJ is to just agree to one of Trump's special master nominees.  They can always appeal later if the special master acts like a Trumpist idiot.  Keep this process moving and don't let them delay!  Or they can appeal at the same time they are still playing ball with the special master. 

Hopefully the appeals court will come in and throw out the whole special master order but DOJ can still be working with the special master to get documents released in the interim.  

Trump WANTS the DOJ to appeal to the appeals court which will just delay things.  

I suggest the DOJ agrees to allow Trump's nominee, Raymond Dearie, to be the special master.
