Not sure how people who glanced at it and thought DeSantis was being reasonable were hypocrites.  Stupid perhaps for not realizing it was DeSantis but hypocrites?

I made the original statement that “DeSantis is hypocrite” that he was replying to.  They “are all hypocrites” was a reference to politicians.

Ok if this is true, this guy needs to be tried for treason..

https://www.newsweek.com/exclusive-trump-raid-documents-could-reveal-intel-sources-us-payroll-1733230

In pursuing the unprecedented search of Donald Trump's residence on Monday, the FBI was seeking to retrieve Top Secret and "compartmented" documents dealing with intelligence "sources and methods," two federal government sources tell Newsweek—documents with the potential to reveal U.S. intelligence sources, including human sources on the American government payroll.

This is why the affidavit needs to be released like yesterday. Especially if Garland can’t stop the “leaks”. They might not be true, taken out of context, or whatever. But leaks just create hyper speculation which results in hyper divisiveness. It’s Garlands job to minimize that.

It's Garland's job to get the bad guys.

That's literally not his job.  It's a calculus. If these leaks ARE true though, it's his job to make sure TFG is never allowed to run of political office again, first and foremost.

Well, I mean he could still technically run from prison, win, and then pardon himself of any federal crimes.

That's how I took it....

"What a nice country you've got there, it'd sure be a shame if someone set it on fire..."

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Charges haven’t been filed. Why would an affidavit be released?

Since these are federal crimes, I assume that on his first day in office he could fully pardon himself.  Technically, he'd need to be sworn in in a federal prison.  And unless the Dems have 67 Senators, I've seen enough to truly believe that he wouldn't be impeached and removed.

IIRC, the Constitution is ambiguous as to whether a president can pardon himself. If Trump was to try to do so himself on or after January 20, 2025 and SCOTUS didn't look to John Marshall to put a stop to it, I still have enough belief in our country to think that millions upon millions of Americans would take to the streets.

MAGAs like Convert are reaching for anything to try to discredit this investigation.  Everything the public has seen so far doesn’t look good for Orange Goo.

Seems Garland is playing by the book and unless this turns into a magical disaster, I don’t think Trump supporters will be happy with more info being made public.

It is absolutely part of his job to weigh the consequences of action he takes, he’s even said so.

The same reason the subpoena was released and the same reason Garland had a press conference. From his own words, “because this is an extremely unique case and there’s tremendous public interest”.
