Belmont is always a solid team.

I've been wanting a Memphis vs Belmont series for a while now...1 game in Memphis, 1 game in Nashville @ Municipal Auditorium (holds 8,000 for basketball)

but they want a true home game...

... and there's no reason why they shouldn't get a true home game.  Curb Events Center will work just fine

Can’t find much on Boise’s.

They also play Texas A&M in Ft. Worth (Dec. 3rd) and first round game in Myrtle beach is against Charlotte. Looks like there are still a bunch of games to add.

It is now difficult for UH hoops to sked up OOC hoops.

Of note we are at Oregon and Virginia.  Hosting up Alabama.  Playing St. Mary's neutral site Dickey's arena in Ft. Worth.

2023 forward it's the Challenge against BE and SEC in XII land.

Nevada:

Home: Sam Houston St, Norfolk St, Santa Clara, Grand Canyon

Away: UT-Arlington, @ Oregon, @ Pepperdine, @ Loyola MM, @ N. Texas

Neutral: Tulane, R.Island/Kansas St, TBA

Probably one more Division II game around final week to round out the OOC

Why is half the conference ducking St. Mary's? 🙂

They seem to be a pretty common opponent in the MWC this year.

Why not?  Memphis isn't special.  Even UNC goes to small gyms.

according to ESPN they will put it on ESPNU if we play it at Muni Auditorium plus it would offer both sides an option for more money as it not only holds more but for an ESPN event they can charge more per seat.

we're only interested if it's guaranteed for TV.

UNC can play anywhere and they'll stick it on TV...

Would it matter if Belmont vs Memphis is in their arena or if it is in a municipal arena, TV wise?  I am going to guess no on that.  That would be a good intra-state game, and it seems weird that that would be the excuse that it doesn't happen.

according to Penny we couldn't get a confirmed TV game unless it was at a larger venue....

I don't see that changing by shifting to a slightly larger arena in Nashville.  That reeks of an excuse.  At least Calipari admitted his reason to not play Gonzaga in The Kennel.

the Cal v Gonzaga thing was simply because we didn't have to...Cal knew he had the bargaining power and leverage so he used it.

now the Belmont thing was back in Penny's first/second season. ESPN wanted that game to be part of some event... 'tip-off marathon' I believe it was (we had played WSU in Sioux Falls as part of it before) and it's often held at neutral sites. It's an ESPN event so they cover some of the costs and put it on TV.

in place of that game we scheduled Little Rock at home and got them neutral site the next season as part of the Barklays Center Classic on ESPN.

Fortunately, through various ranking sites, Coog OOC lofty ones Alabama, Virginia, and Oregon are getting great attention.

To boot ongoing conference play Cincinnati is in the highly selective and wonderful Maui Invitational...featuring Cincy, Arkansas, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Arizona, San Diego State (props), Louisville, and Creighton.  Maui Invite link.

Go Aztecs, greg of Arizona, and Cincy not getting tossed too early.  And of course Memphis doing what Memphis does in hoops re conference play.

It is the quiet before the long, sustained, difficult storm.  Supposedly UH gridiron is in the Cotton Bowl against either of USC or Oklahoma. That's just a bit of a coin flip betwixt the AAC champion this year in the AAC CCG.

Hoops are different.  Final Four in Hou in 2023 at Reliant and if it finally does happen for Coogs re Hoops National Crown, it is THE best possible time ever to do so.

p.s. re G5 representative to the Cotton Bowl; there may be no coin toss at all re AAC champ.  If BYU runs its slate clean with its difficult sked, that would be amazing. Coastal Carolina is in the mix as well with its QB1 constant pressers.

A new question is posed re the Cotton Bowl G5 rep.  Why not Aztecs?  Especially if there is a win over Utah in Game 3 preceded by two lights-out wins over Arizona and Idaho State in newby fantastic SnappyDragon Stadium.
