This transfer list has me intrigued.  So is there enough juice for a Bowl game?

@UNLV2001, @4UNLV @SharkTanked will you folks be buying bowl tickets?

If things come together (which a lot of teams can say this) I think UNLV could come close-- Guessing 4 wins, maybe 6 if things come together -- The schedule gets tougher as it goes on, so if UNLV can't get the out to a 3-2 start then any bowl is doubtful - A 3-2 start & showing some positives, then UNLV might be able to steal a few more Wins on the schedule.

Vs Idaho State = Win - Need this one to start the season off mentally, loss would be devastating to everything UNLV FB

At Cal = Loss - Good test at PAC opponent. 80% sure this will be a loss, but if UNLV has anything, the Rebels might keep this close with a shot to win.

Vs North Texas = Win - Another similar to Idaho State, need this win to have any shot at a improved season

At Utah State = Loss - Similar to the Cal game, penciled as a loss, but UNLV keeping it close or pulling off a win not impossible. Blow out here would be bad going forward

Vs New Mexico = Win - Another home game the Rebels MUST WIN against a struggling MWC opponent

At San Jose State = Loss - SJSU might have something going on so this one is a game the Spartans won't want to let get away

Vs Air Force = Win - Going out on a limb here with Rebels winning - Will be far enough into season to know if UNLV is better or just a desert mirage

At Notre Dame =  Loss - Get the paycheck, enjoy the experience, give the roster playing time & get out with the least amount of damage possible

At San Diego State = Loss - Aztecs in new digs, should be able to handle UNLV, if NOT, then SDSU has issues & UNLV might be onto something

Vs Fresno State = Loss - This later season game will be a good tell on where UNLV is. If Rebels improving & shown some fight in previous weeks, this one might be interesting, just think the Dogs are a bit too much for UNLV at this point

At Hawaii = Win - Rebels have played well at Hawaii even while being down, by this point is UNLV has anything going, Rebs can win on the island

Vs Nevada = Win - Pack lost a lot in the coaching defection & new staff. Time could be right for UNLV to make this a statement game

Toughest games for me to call are the AT USU, AT SJSU, VS AFA, VS NEVADA -- could see these 4 games going either way depending on how UNLV develops -- These are the 4 games that will be good barometers on where UNLV is & these 4 will make or break the season from being 3 wins or 6+ wins

Brennon Scott injury complicates rebuild for UNLV football defense

This offseason got off to a bad start when the team’s best player, linebacker Jacoby Windmon, transferred to Michigan State, and the situation got worse on Monday with news that the team could be without up-and-coming linebacker Brennon Scott for the foreseeable future.

Scott, a redshirt sophomore, suffered a knee injury in spring practice and has missed the first three days of training camp.

Head coach Marcus Arroyo steered clear of categorizing Scott’s status on Monday, but it seems as though the promising sophomore might be out until 2023.

Scott was one of the headliners of Marcus Arroyo’s first recruiting class in 2020. A three-star prospect out of Dallas, Scott chose UNLV over Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, USC and Texas. He redshirted during the pandemic season in 2020, then came on strong as a freshman in 2021.

Scott’s playing time increased as the campaign went on. In his first five games, he compiled 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks; in his final five contests, Scott racked up 6.5 TFLs and 3.0 sacks.

That explosive finish positioned Scott for a breakout year in 2022. During spring practice he was listed as a starter as a stand-up outside linebacker (which is called the “STUD” position in UNLV’s defensive system), but the knee injury caused him to miss the spring finale, which was a showcase at Allegiant Stadium that was open to the public.

Your North Tejas WIN is a LOSS.

Your New MX, Hawai'i & Nevada WINS are all toss-ups.  You need too add Los Lobos & the 'bows to your "...could see these...games going either way list."

If you really believe Utah St & the USAFA games could go "...either way," you are delusional.

You’re basing your opinion on last year’s performance. This is a very different team from last years team. A lot of new faces and depth on both sides of the ball. UNLV May just surprise some people this year.
