Private Idaho show early Sat. PM and on comes one from Robert Zimmerman's peak era:

Title seems to fit, lately.

Blood on the tracks was the very first CD I ever bought.  I was transitioning from vinyl (I own about 1500 records) and cassette tapes.  I ended up with close to 1000 cds when I realized they can't compare to vinyl. And yes, I am old enough that I even bought a few 8-tracks.

Before that was Nashville Skyline and when its songs came on AM radio, at first no one knew that was Dylan.  Anyway, I'm almost rack city tonight and I got drawn to Bob and John R.:

my middle daughter is getting pretty damned good at the Ukelele, working on this song, not quite ready for doing it in a recital though

Tell her the hardest part is just getting up in front of people for the first time. After that it’s just her and the instrument. Have confidence. Nobody in that crowd can do what she does the way she does it, so to hell with what they might think.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

That girl could get into Stanford like her grandpa.  She's talented and confident, good at everything.  And she's comfortable performing, it's just the notes in that song are pretty fast (even for a Portagee playing the Ukelele).

My boy on the other hand, he's going to have to be a grinder like his dad.   We aren't going to win any genius contests, but we are smart enough to make a good living.

And my youngest starts learning braille next week.  I got the grab bag of kids.

And a lucky man you are for it.

@Old_SD_Dude I know you like McCarthy. I can’t recommend this audiobook highly enough. It’s unlike anything of his I’ve ever read of his. The voice acting is perfect. The concepts typically mindbending of the author. He’s 90 years old and still throwing a fastball in the triple digits.

Is she taking uke in school or just figuring it out by herself?

Ukuleles are rad. Much easier than a guitar to get going on but also can be as sophisticated as you want.

My kid picked it up last year. Did some lesson, then the rest on her own. Pretty awesome.

That's beyond amazing.

The teenage girl posted 5 or 6 videos of her shredding, dropped this metal Beethoven cover and then never posted another video.
