Welcome to Cal Poly Humboldt

Recommended Posts

Dammit, and they dropped their football team.  The Lumberjacks are 1-0 against Fresno State Bulldogs and same as Fresno state's record against Fresno High School. We will never get the monkey off her back with the lumberjacks, hopefully we get a chance to redeem ourselves against the Fresno High School Warriors.

The last minutes of HSU's match against Central Washington.

RIP HSU (and Division II Football in California)

Kudos to Humboldt State on becoming a Cal Poly. And thanks again for letting our Spartans practice at your football facility. I doubt Lumberjacks football will return, but I hope so.

The Lumberjack football team will likely not return. But Humboldt County is seeing the return of JuCo football. College of the Redwoods suspended football in 2020. But they hired coaches last year and are recruiting players to begin playing again this fall.

Today the California State University Trustees approved the renaming of Humboldt State University to California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt.

Teams will continue to be called the Lumberjacks.

Look at Humboldt pretending they are Cal Poly.  Its always been bad enough that Pomona tried to trade on our brand but now freaking Humboldt too?  Gimme a break.

CP Humboldt appears to be trying to one up CP SLO.

CP SLO has a research pier and a few 15-20 foot boats/Zodiacs for its marine biology program. But CP Humboldt already has a 90 foot research vessel for its new marine program.

Then besides adding new engineering programs (mechanical, software, environmental, etc) next year, CP Humboldt in Fall 2023 will begin a BA in Cannabis Studies. SLO's and Fresno's ag programs may be missing out on a future popular degree. :hookah:
