IIRC Norvell calls the plays.  Perhaps Mumme wants to not be an OC in name-only and be able to call plays and have full reign over the offense?

Your embarrassment of riches with your payroll coffers and world class facilities for some reason hasn't translated into much of a winning tradition at csu.  Can you elaborate on why paying more means you're better?  Case in point - you hired a mediocre, at best, head coach and assistant staff from Nevada and paid them handsomely.  Where are you guaranteed better results?

It's a really decent staff. Most Hawaii fans I see seem to be happy with the staff Timmy put together. The OC at least now isn't a relative to the HC and has a lot of experience as an HC/OC at lower divisions which he put up good offensive numbers. DC has had years to learn under good DC's (Graham, Batoon, etc.). And most of the staff have some relation to the islands and know what its like to coach/live in the islands.

The big question mark is the recruiting trail and how good of a recruiting class they can build if not this season then for future years.

I think our temp field gives Sparty a run for its money lol. $500k sounds fair for someone who was never going to get a head spot elsewhere honestly. Glad he's home though
