US Response to Russian Invasion of Ukraine

65 members have voted

  1. 1. What should the US response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine be?

    • Nuke 'em
    • Full conventional military response, troops, tanks, fighters etc take part in defense of Ukraine
    • Air/missile strikes against key Russian military targets
    • Economic embargo of Russia
    • Economic sanctions against Russia
    • Cutoff diplomatic relations with Russia
    • Nothing.

You were right I was wrong.

+++++ Russia.

I still think NATO has been irrationally provocative towards Russia, and the US should have helped more in the transition post fall as was expected, and maybe we would not be here.  But Putin is and Russia are CLEARLY the bad actors here.  +++++ them.

I thought you were pro-Russia?  :)

Have you seen All Quiet On The Western Front? Netflix. 2022. Most brutal movie I’ve seen on WW1.

Makes Saving Private Ryan look like a Disney Cartoon.

I heard Tarantino is going to do a WWI flick, and he’s ordered a million gallons of fake blood which will take 2 years to make.

Wait, wait wait. Did you really just say that?  NATO, a 100% defensive organization that formed simply to protect itself from Soviet imperialism is a threat to Putin? That’s a straight up bullshit Putin talking point and Russian propaganda. That’s something that Tulsi Gabbard and Fvcker Carlson pedal. There has never been ANY threat to Russia.

The US didn’t do anything for Russia when the wall fell? We sent billions to Russia in aid to help them transition from their socialist nirvana to capitalism. We helped them a ton, and no one has ever had any intentions to invade Russia. NATO isn’t set up to engage in offensive operations.

Dude, what we’ve done or should’ve done wouldn’t have made any difference. Putin wants the Russian Empire back. He’s obsessed with it. That’s what he’s seeking right now, and wants it to be his legacy.  Wake up.

For those keeping score, the New Year began much like the old year ended - with Russia taking another D and marking another notch in the L column:

Russia claims there were 63 service members killed. The actual number, while likely lower than the 600 referenced in the tweet, likely still numbers in the hundreds.

Looks like the West is prepping Ukraine for the Spring.

More details on the new aid package that included the Bradleys in this tweet. Besides this equipment list the Pentagon announced the package includes ammunition.

Then other countries may be sending more support soon.

Talking with a friend the other day and he said one of the main reasons Russia is invading Ukraine is due to Russia's population decline. Did some research and it's pretty alarming. Their population is going to get old pretty quickly so they need numbers. Didn't even think about it being a factor.

It is one of the reasons Putin has been shipping Ukrainian children to be adopted in Russia since the war began. Also why other countries with old USSR or Russian Empire connections are concerned Putin may eventually turn to them next.

Yeah, these guys SCREAM NATO.  Zelenksy still have those debtors and journalists he does not like in prison for committing the crime of crossing him?  Prolly should name your dog after him.

https://www.politico.eu/article/defense-minister-reznikov-ukraine-corruption-probe-war-russia-zelenskyy/

"Both of the inquiries are related to war profiteering, and triggered an immediate pledge of action from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday night. The case involving the defense ministry involved purchases of military rations at inflated prices — a topic that has snowballed into top news in Kyiv. Almost simultaneously, the deputy infrastructure minister was fired in a case linked to an overpriced public purchase of electrical generators. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine said it was investigating both matters."
