US Response to Russian Invasion of Ukraine

65 members have voted

  1. 1. What should the US response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine be?

    • Nuke 'em
    • Full conventional military response, troops, tanks, fighters etc take part in defense of Ukraine
    • Air/missile strikes against key Russian military targets
    • Economic embargo of Russia
    • Economic sanctions against Russia
    • Cutoff diplomatic relations with Russia
    • Nothing.

So here's where we differ: I don't think Russia ever really militarily recovers from this. Their demographics and economy plus government structure doesn't allow for it. This is the last time Russia will be able to wage any kind of meaningful war and have a chance at winning. Unless it invades Maldova.

i think russia invaded ukraine to control the natural gas .

if Ukraine has control over that territory they will sell natural gas to Germany which would shut Russia out.

russia gets trillions from natural gas sales

germany should ask France for help in setting up nuclear plants to get away from natural gas.

That would require admitting they were wrong and not following the science.

I bet they are kicking themselves.  They don't need France's help, though.

I said we'd spend a trillion of our taxpayer dollars on Ukraine. We're at 80 billion so far. We'll get there

$80 billion is 8% of $1 trillion, dipshit. Eight percent. Don't they teach math in middle school in Russia? :foottap:

good...money well spent

Another awesome thing about Ukraine is, they’ve really never(if at all) asked for NATO troops to save them.

All they’ve wanted was proper equipment and they’d handle their business. I’ve gained a lot of respect for the Ukrainians. Honestly, I didn’t know a ton about their culture and pride before this mess.

I remember those guys. I think they were former military. While I admire them wanting to help, it's bad business for our people.

Everyone has warned them not to go for specific reasons. There were 6 listed in your article.

We end up having to do horse trades that are very lopsided. A kid that got drunk( Reed) for a career criminal/thug. Other examples too. Americans are fantastic targets for hate and propaganda.

IMO, our citizens have no business in high risk countries and war zones. The press is kind of expected. While you are 100% right, I was mostly referring to our current soldiers acting on orders..
