US Response to Russian Invasion of Ukraine

65 members have voted

  1. 1. What should the US response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine be?

    • Nuke 'em
    • Full conventional military response, troops, tanks, fighters etc take part in defense of Ukraine
    • Air/missile strikes against key Russian military targets
    • Economic embargo of Russia
    • Economic sanctions against Russia
    • Cutoff diplomatic relations with Russia
    • Nothing.

Me too. Lots of smoke lately, but it might be all wishful thinking.

Putin may be evil personified, but he is smart and very experienced.  I can't rule out that this made the news on purpose.   But I am hoping someone else let it in and Putin is furious over it.

If this guy is still around in a month, I may start to think it made the news with Putin's knowledge and consent.

I think it is the latter and a very encouraging sign. Also could be a sign that Putin's grip is starting to give way. Harbinger to a coup?

I think this retired colonel guy is going to have an accident very soon.

Either a faulty gas tank on his fishing boat or he ate some bad scrambled eggs that led to a heart attack.

Either way no autopsy will be needed or even possible.

That was a very good article.  It is puzzling how that got through.  So many possibilities.

Gotta prepare the Russian population for a lot of missing soldiers soon

You guys gotta watch this. Amazing honesty from a retired Russki Colonel on what looks like state TV. Hard to believe they allowed this unless they’re trying to gradually let reality sink in.

That colonel sure seems to want Vlad to go away.

But let's not confuse the Vlads:

Yeah, they can't really ignore that.

To an extent, they can. But at the rate they are being cut down, with 20,000+ dead and something like triple that otherwise as casualties, yeah.

They will spin it like they always do as far as missing bodies or dead soldiers not taken back home. They'll tell the family that their son died a hero as he went into a burning house and saved 4 helpless Ukrainian teenagers that had been making secret pleas to Mother Russia to be saved from their NAZI parents. Just before he got the children out, he was gunned down and taken away by more Nazis. No body found.

When really, he and his BMP crew were lit up by a Javelin crew for taking out innocent civilians riding bikes on a street corner.  Once the smoke cleared, the Russian crematorium truck loaded up him and his buddies and set the burner on high as they dashed back to their front lines.

Very cool. He’s a young man.  He’s fresh from the battlefield. Very open now. It will be interesting to see if he gets any PTSD setting in.

Those stories might be harder form him to tell down the road. Hope he has help if needed.

That meme is fire, but just in "modern" history with guns and stuff, Napoleon lost 300,000 of his 500,000 man army when he invaded....you know it...Russia.

Russian winter, bad logistics (for the sheer size of Russia), scorched earth policy by the Russians, and rarely actually engaging but luring Napoleon deeper... Yeah.
