US Response to Russian Invasion of Ukraine

65 members have voted

  1. 1. What should the US response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine be?

    • Nuke 'em
    • Full conventional military response, troops, tanks, fighters etc take part in defense of Ukraine
    • Air/missile strikes against key Russian military targets
    • Economic embargo of Russia
    • Economic sanctions against Russia
    • Cutoff diplomatic relations with Russia
    • Nothing.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

100 soldiers a day dead, is what he said, with another 500 to injuries grave enough to remove them from the field.

For reference, that’s half the average of Verdun per day. It becomes a mathematical equation at some point.

Edit: that’s the average for just the French. The Germans were suffering comparably. Verdun sucked.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Why are you so obsessed with ‘gay’? 😂

Desantis is such a dork, though.

Desantis has done a wonderful job as Governor in the Great state of Florida. He kept schools open and didn't crush the economy due to covid.

He does a good job on a lot of things, but his personality, the way he looks and talks is pretty annoying to me. Ultimately, it’s action that matters, but many people consider likability is an important part of picking someone. So I’d be worried about him doing well enough in a general election.

The main worry I have right now is that the Ukrainians are so focused on defending Severodonetsk that they end up being encircled. The Russian are definitely making advances to the northwest and southwest of the city. If their forces meet, you’ve got an even larger Mariopul. It’s definitely what the Russkis are trying to do. At the moment the quality of particular weapon systems is secondary. It’s all about massed artillery. It’s something the Russian army is good at.

Yeah.  I prefer people who believe in democracy and civil rights. DeSantis isn't that.

Lol? Economically speaking, Florida couldn't carry Cali's jockstrap.

Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice, DeSantis' COVID policies resulted in a per capita death rate a full 50% higher than California's:

True for now, But you have a lot of people leaving.

Yep Republican retirees.  Quite frankly that can’t leave fast enough.

Part of our housing issue is Prop 13 doesn’t force retirees on a fixed budget to move from areas by work centers.  We moved where we lived 25 years ago.  My commute is maybe 10-15 minutes to work.

But our taxes are so low we are severely incented to not ever move.  Our tax bill would sky rocket.  So instead of retiring and moving to a more remote area we will likely stay put.

Thank goodness for all the Republican’s hating it here, cashing out and leaving.   Some of their complaints are valid but our housing affordability issue would be much worse if they stayed.   Be aware as they will all push for a CA Prop 13 type bill.  In one hand it is very nice but it has some real hidden downsides.
