US Response to Russian Invasion of Ukraine

65 members have voted

  1. 1. What should the US response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine be?

    • Nuke 'em
    • Full conventional military response, troops, tanks, fighters etc take part in defense of Ukraine
    • Air/missile strikes against key Russian military targets
    • Economic embargo of Russia
    • Economic sanctions against Russia
    • Cutoff diplomatic relations with Russia
    • Nothing.

Well for one, have you seen the Prime Minister of Finland? Joking.

I also didn't realize until recently that Finland has a president and a prime minister.

JMO, but adding Finland and Sweden wouldn't be a bad thing. The security to the region alone would be worth it.

If accurate that is amazing progress.  Shows a Russian army in disarray but why am I skeptical?  Let's see if they retake Kherson.  That would be huge

Here’s the reasons to join NATO from the mouth of the Finnish Ambassador to the USA.

Even though this is Fox News, still a good piece with video.

Here's a side-by-side of yesterday's ISW update and a 24-hour aggregation of NASA FIRMS data which displays actively burning fires over a 24-hour period. Yellow data points indicate readings older than 24 hours, orange are 12-24 hours old, and red are 6-12 hours old.

By comparing and contrasting where the FRIMS data falls in relation to ISW's estimated area of Russian control west of Izyum, you can ascertain where along the front lines whether active fire is targeting Ukrainian, or Russian, positions. I might start creating simple overlays every few days, but no time for now.

From the look of this particular set of images, one can see multiple areas of concentrated fire that appear on both sides of the LoC as established by ISW.

You guys gotta watch this. Amazing honesty from a retired Russki Colonel on what looks like state TV. Hard to believe they allowed this unless they’re trying to gradually let reality sink in.

I think it is the latter and a very encouraging sign. Also could be a sign that Putin's grip is starting to give way. Harbinger to a coup?

That was a very good article.  It is puzzling how that got through.  So many possibilities.
