The most important thing for Garza going forward is recruiting the right type of player. She needs player who positively respond to her tough love style of coaching.

All it takes is one player to get her delicate feefees hurt and that's it. Cancel Mob ---> AD's office --> bye bye Linda.

I think that was a 1 time in a career incident at Fresno.  But you're right she likes tough players.

I have to give credit to Fresno State's softball team.  Just a few weeks ago Fresno State's softball team was mired in LAST place in the MWC softball standings.  But they have fought and clawed their way all the way from dead last in the standings up to 5th place now (as of yesterday's games).  The Bulldogs are now trailing only San Diego State, Utah State, U.N.L.V. and Boise State

Current MWC softball standings after 4/23/2022

San Diego State - 13-2 (MWC) - 30-12 (Overall)

Utah State - 10-4 (MWC) - 25-19 (Overall)

U.N.L.V. - 9-5 (MWC) - 31-11

Boise State - 9-5 (MWC) - 30-10

Fresno State - 7-10 (MWC) - 15-30

Colorado State - 5-9 (MWC) - 14-22

San Jose State - 6-11 (MWC) - 20-22

Nevada - 5-12 (MWC) - 15-30

New Mexico - 4-10 (MWC) - 24-19

Today's games in MWC softball are:

Utah State @ U.N.L.V. - 12 noon MT (11 am PT)

Colorado State @ Fresno State - 12 noon MT (11 am PT)

San Jose State @ Boise State - 12 noon MT (11 am PT)

New Mexico @ Nevada - 1 p.m. MT (Noon PT)

I've watched Bailey for 15 innings now. She does not have dominating stuff, at all. Her ERA is more a reflection of the competition she's been facing. She sure as heck isn't a pitcher who shd  be beating a MW team three straight. I guess that makes us "not a MW team" #hardpilltoswallow

I'd say Bailey was a lot more dominating than San Jose's ace - particularly today.   But in addition to that Bailey picked up THREE wins this weekend vs San Jose State (in 14 2/3 innings) and she gave up only ONE earned run in those 14 2/3 innings (a solo home run).  It doesn't get much more dominating than that.

In game 1 Bailey pitched 6 innings and gave up only ONE hit and ZERO runs.

In game 2 Bailey replaced Taylor Caudill in the 4th inning and pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up only 2 hits and ZERO runs.

In game 3 Bailey pitched 5 innings and gave up 4 hits and her only earned run this weekend.

In case you aren't aware of this Bailey came to Boise State as a transfer from Minnesota three years ago - where she pitched mainly as a relief pitcher for the Gophers (for 2 years).

I liked how Senini's family got to come on the field after the game to commemorate the recore, cool  moment.

Big day for big flies at the hill schools today. Howard sent one about 300', and one of the donkettes might have hit one even farther against SJS.

yeah.

And as screwed up as the world seems to be, at least you can still go to an afternoon  U softball game and see the kids running around in their team uniforms chasing each other around and waiting in the Dippin Dots line ---  just  having fun on a sunny spring day.
