Coaching advice..it's called right swiping on the app.  Perhaps you went south paw for a short bit.  You'll get it.  Luck sent.  Swipe right in whichever app works for my bud, Warbly.

Name - Michael AKA AztecAlien

Alma Maters - San Diego State Geography/Environmental Studies and Sciences. AIU- Education

Born In La Mesa California and grew up in East El Cajon when it was cool. Lots of orange groves, dairies, and open space. Went to Granite Hills HS. Lived in Alpine for 10 years before the population explosion. There was nothing in Rancho San Diego and Alpine. lived in Northern Utah for almost 20 years. 10 miles from Snowbird.

Became a Realtor and worked at Snowbird part time and got to ski for free.

Current Home - Star Valley WY

Married 34 Years - No Children

Two Truths And A Lie - I'm a pretty good fisherman. I'm an excellent skier and good at golf. I like shoveling snow, fighting bears and tuna casserole.

Scariest Moment In Life - I had heartburn for about a year and it didn't matter what I ate. The doctor treated it as acid reflux. After an endoscopy a year later, the doctor revealed I had a tumor the size of a half dollar in my esophagus that was pushing against the sphincter on the junction of my esophagus and stomach that was allowing stomach acid to get into my esophagus. It was black. The Dr. told my wife and I he has never seen a tumor in that spot before and we should start getting our stuff in order because he thought it was cancer. Had to have a specialist come in and remove the tumor because they did not want to damage the sphincter that stops acid from flowing into my esophagus from my stomach. If that got damaged during the surgery, I would have been screwed. Turned out the tumor was benign, but I have to have it checked once in a while. Pretty scary.

I like many genres of music except for blue grass. Sorry, I can only take BG for about 15 min. I do like outlaw country and upbeat country though. Don't like hardcore rap, but like hip hop. I really like reggae ska a lot. Slightly Stoopid, Stick Figure, Iration and similar sounding bands.

Pet Peeve - Stop naming your kids Michael!! There are 8 trillion Michaels already and it doesn't matter how you spell it.

Street racing stop light to stop light on 2nd St in El Cajon. I take off in my 65 Mustang Coupe against a Fastback. Pretty much a dead heat as I recall. Great 2nd Street story. I just got my driver's license when they started shutting it down around 84. However, when I was younger my dad would roll down 2nd Street in a 67 Ford Camper Special after picking some friends and I up from Cajon Speedway. Not sure, but I think it had a 351 Cleveland in it. You were allowed to sit in the back of the truck back then. It was awesome!! Times have changed in East County.

BTW, my wife grew up in Lakeside and went to El Crapitan. 😀

Name: Vincent (duh)

Team: UNLV

Education: Got my bachelor's at DePaul University in Chicago, IL in 2005.  Studied undergrad at both UNLV and Rangsit University in Thailand, but transferred to DePaul during my junior year.  Felt kinda bad about it cuz I'm such a big UNLV fan but didn't graduate from UNLV.

But since I returned to the USA in 2017, I've gotten not one but 2 Master's Degrees, both from UNLV.  Master of Education, curriculum and instruction (2019), and Master of Education, special education (2021).

Pro Teams: Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights, Bratislava HC Slovan, and Dynamo Moscow (hockey), Pittsburgh Steelers

soccer: River Plate, Atletico Madrid, Dynamo Moscow, Besiktas, Club America (soccer)

Hometown: Las Vegas

Currently in: Las Vegas

Family: married for 4 years, 2 dogs

Fun facts: Traveled to over 80 countries and 6 continents.  Lived in South Korea (2 years), Thailand (3 years), Russia (2 years), Turkey (6 months), Spain (5 months), hence the name Vegabond.  Been back in Vegas for 4 years now.

When I lived in Korea, UNLV alum Odartey Blankson was playing pro ball there for the local team (Changwon Sakers) and I became an instant fan and went to all the KBA games.  When I was in Turkey, former Rebel Kaspars Kambala was playing in the Turkish league and I got to see play several times in the Turkish League.

I love going to sports events, been to pro soccer games in Europe (Chelsea, Fulham, Fenearbace, Besiktas, Galatasaray, CSKA, Zenit St. Petersburg, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, etc) and all over South America (Boca Juniors, River Plate, Sao Paulo FC, etc).  Been to pro wrestling in Mongolia and Senegal, where their versions of wrestling are HUGE.  When I lived in Moscow, was a big fan of CSKA and saw all their EuroLeague games, as well as KHL hockey.  Got to see All Blacks vs. Springboks in person in New Zealand (rugby), and saw AFL and pro rugby games all over Australia.

Scariest moment:  got several of them; scuba diving in Honduras and the ran out of air while 40 meters underwater (luckily I wasn't alone and didn't freak out; shared the tank with a partner as we surfaced).  Got lost while hiking in Guatemala and had to spend the night alone in the middle of a forest.  Got arrested in Western Sahara, Africa (long story) and got interrogated by the police, who thought I was working for insurrectionists.  Probably the scariest though, was living through the Dave Rice era in UNLV basketball, though thankfully I was far away during those times and he (and whoever his intern was after he was canned) is the only UNLV coach since I became a fan (1995) that I never saw a game in person.

lol.. yeah, the meter was all messed up and showed I still had air but I didn't.  If I had freaked out and made for the surface I could have died, so I'm glad I didn't go for that strategy, lol.

That happened to me once before I was certified but at like 3 feet and I freaked out a bit. Resurfacing from 120 ft could easily kill you.

A River fan!? Last I remember Boca was making the rivalry one sided...

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Yeah, true.  Whenever I go spend time in a country, I try to pick a good team but NOT a "New York Yankees/ LA Lakers" type team, ie the perennially top team with all the money and bandwagon fans.

I spent 3 months in Argentina and yeah, Boca was the big-time team but at the time (this was way back in 2007) River Plate was good and they were big rivals.  Same reason I picked Besiktas over Galatasaray when I lived in Turkey (that and I also lived super close to the Besiktas stadium), and Dynamo over CSKA in Russia, etc (although Dynamo didn't have a basketball team so I was a CSKA fan in basketball but not soccer/hockey).

I also did that when choosing my team when I lived in Spain; wasn't going to pick Barcelona or Real Madrid, but Atletico was kicking ass at the time (this was 2013).  Same in the UK; I didn't want to go Manchester or Chelsea, I ended up picking Tottenham.

Ha! Well I think lately it has been more even.  I was in Argentina in 2003-2004 (my high school sophomore year) and the '00s were boca dominant.

Living in knoxville now I'm not sure how to use that logic,  I think I'm about equally distant from the titans, falcons,  and panthers...
