No reason for the madness anymore!  Stop postponing the games!

With Omicron it’s very easily spread. Thus, if you allow infected players to play it’ll spread to every team you play. I’m not sure how to handle this. Maybe a ton of testing is needed to see who is available to play. It’s going to create chaos with the schedule this conference season.

Omicron is weak and most vaccinated people show no symptoms. That means the Vax is working. Some herd immunity may finally be achieved with Vax + Omicron. Many people will have Covid and never know it, picking up some natural immunity.

I think we are over testing and then cancelling everything when these players test positive but are not sick. The NFL has stopped the madness on their end, the NCAA needs to follow.

Btw, SJSU has shut it down for two weeks. Games vs Nevada, @ Utah State, and vs UNLV are postponed.

Exactly, Covid is here to stay.  Take precautions, but we need to stop cancelling everything.

REASON #1 - The lack of vaccine supply in the 3rd World

REASON #2 - The lack of critical thinking & ability to identify a cult in the Q World

Our roster is already super thin and just a few COVID cases probably means we can't field a team. Hope we can get these games rescheduled.

There's a difference between being sick and being positive, but the geniuses in charge of our universities haven't yet grasped that...

That's not the problem. If you're positive, you're going to spread the virus to others, even if you only get mild/minimal symptoms yourself. Especially with Omicron which may not cause as much severe illness, but spreads like crazy since it replicates in the upper respiratory system, so it can spread more easily vs the original virus/variants which affected the alveoli in the lungs themselves.

Agreed. Schedules should be adjusted if there are openings in two teams schedules to allow healthy teams to play each other while they are healthy.

We're available if the Choo Choo's need an opponent

Kind of like the flu. So why don't we just test everyone all the time for everything? Seems a great way to eradicate viral infections...

They already changed the testing requirements before the season. If people are getting tested, it's because they were either not vaccinated (unlikely at SJSU since it's a CSU requirement) or showed symptoms: https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/general-new-covid-19-guidance-for-fall-sports-released

Some schools are still doing contact testing, if someone they know has tested positive, they want player or person to test as well and some who have never shown any symptoms are coming up positive.
