This is why talk like this is dumb.

Hold your tongue. What else is a middle aged dad gonna do while his household is asleep and he's a couple beers down?

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Oh man. This explains about 90% of my involvement on this board. :rotflmfao:

Why pay Texas personal income when you can pay Nevada, Wyoming, Washington or Florida (none)?

It's not just personal income for the CEO's. Increasingly it is about the employees and the corporate tax incentives offered by other states. To think it is just CEO personal income is far from reality.

The issue NV faces is it is simply just not in the ballpark in terms of quality of life as compared to CA. Our Ed sucks, we live in a desert, cultural offerings are minimal, and there ain't no beach... but we might have aliens (the intergalactic kind).

Also, we have more personal freedoms in Nevada than authoritarian Texas.

Live mwcboard fantasy pilots...

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

It's not simply a tool.  It's a language that describes everything :) how tired you are,  why you're tired,  how you feel.  It's all a beautiful symphony of math.

It didn't have to be complex or unapproachable or boring.  It's just there,  and we use it, in everything, naturally.

yea if you’re a machine

how much coffee do you drink

:hmmm:

Pick a number, any number. Now go out into nature and find that number.

So much irony in this thread.

Journalist guy managed to change the topic to his favorite subject: Himself.

Sucks there's only one part of that piece of paper he cares about, because further exploration could have saved one of his barrels of ink for something else #inseparable

Gee, I wonder why nobody knows anything?

I think we need to roll back the federal government and let the State start to have more power. Why should 49% of this country force its way of life on others.

Eliminate most the federal taxes. Kept SS but roll Medicare and Medicaid to the states over a period of time. The Federal government will handle trades, SS and national defense and little else. Liberals can live in their utopia and conservatives in theirs and the federal government stays the hell out each of the states way of life.

I’m increasingly on board with this sentiment. Though, as a point of clarification, Medicaid is already largely administered by the states. Also, you won’t be able to eliminate most federal taxes if you’re keeping defense and SS in the federal budget, and if you want to let states administer Medicaid and Medicare but keep the programs. Add federal debt payments, and that’s pretty much the whole federal budget.

Agree about rolling back the minority rule.  When 7+MM AMERICANS vote for one candidate over another especially.  49% of the country?  Wut?

Let me guess.  You don't agree with that part right?
