right are wrong Biden and the Democrats will take the blame for the rise in crime. Probably isn’t fair but I don’t care.

Substance abuse up during the pandemic.  Not really that difficult to determine why there's more homicides.

Deadliest city (per capita) was Saint Louis.  Here's an interesting breakdown of their cases.  Note - they are on pace for 2017-2018 levels of homicide in 2021.  Looks like 2020 was an outlier.

The statistics on this page are interesting (it won't let me link the pdfs).

Is it weird that we’re excited for murders now because an increase might give political advantage to one party in the upcoming midterms?

Nooo shit.  Rural America saw a huge increase in homicide in 2020 and 2021 as well.  24% increase actually in 2020.

It's odd because overall crime is down, but homicide is surging.

You would think with increased drug use you would see an increase in crimes associated with use, yet we did not, aside from homicide.  Maybe due to the lockdowns?

Anxiety and anger are high as hell right now.  Even logical people are at wits-end, depending on the subject.  It really does pay to just be friendly to everyone right now.  Less headaches, and I have seen people really appreciate a little Minnesota Nice directed towards them.

Biden needs to mandate that every American listen to this song all day.

That would be correct. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41562-021-01139-z/figures/1

"The descriptive results suggest that stay-at-home restrictions are associated with declines in all types of crime, with the exception of homicide. In Barcelona, for example, police-recorded thefts declined from an average of 385.2 to 38.1 per day (Supplementary Table 15). However, there still appears to be substantial variation across crime categories and cities in the size and direction of crime trends following the implementation of restrictions. Over time, the mean trend begins to return to pre-treatment levels of crime."

Kayleigh McEnany tried to pin the 2020 rate on Biden and immediately got owned when she was reminded she was working in the White House that year.

She immediately deleted her tweet.
