MWC Tex

Boise St at Utah State (CBS)

Boise State won................but I'm reminded of an old phrase that goes something like.............they played like a well oiled machine.   Boise State won............but they absolutely did NOT play like a well oiled machine.   Utah State did a LOT to HELP Boise State win that game - including what was it 13 penalties (some of which were just plain stupid penalties).

Boise State's running game (by the running backs) continues to be anemic and embarrassing.   After 4 games Boise State's leading running back, George Holani, has a grand total of 96 total net yards rushing (an average of 24 net yds/game).   That string of consecutive years where Boise State has had a 1,000 yard rusher is officially over unless Boise State plays 10 more games this season and Holani averages 90.5 yds per game in those remaining 10 games.

Boise State is not a very good football team but they are extraordinarily efficient. Their offense plays on a short virtual field of 70 yards and defense plays on a long 124 yd field.  Until that changes they will probably continue to win.

We picked them to win against the spread and as our apple II+ predicted they easily covered 9. The II+ also predicted the under but we stayed away. Might be time to get back in on the O/u.

So far we are $100 ahead.  We put $220 up and have $210 back with $110 still in the box.  Can’t wait for the UTEP game. It could be wild.

Early on it looked like Aggie's offense would shred the secondary all day.  Some decent adjustments on D IMO.

As for offense I am going to sit back and just take what comes.  That O line isn't close to what was projected this season and it's getting thinner.  Poor Holani rarely gets a sniff of a hole (and we know that sucks).   But Plough called a better game minus those wildcat calls late after they'd seen it a bunch already.  Kudos to Hank for taking nerf snaps all day too.  Crappy center play is going to kill this team if KHG doesn't get healthy.

You'd think a guy called roughrider would know a thing or two about sniffing holes.

The demise of BSU was premature especially how OSU is looking today. BSU looks as good as anyone today in the MWC.

Eh, let down game for K State after their biggest win in decades/possibly ever.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Based on comparative scores KState beat Nevada by 21 points and OSU beat BSU by one and K State by 11. That means Boise State should beat Nevada by 30 points. Lol.

And, BYU didn’t look like the “world beater” tonight.

This will probably go the same way it did a few years ago. Boise will beat Utah State in Logan but USU will go to the championship game because they play UNLV, Hawaii and San Jose while Boise gets Fresno, SDSU and Nevada.

Welcome to the PAC 12 - West.

Oh duh. And the only two teams with a winning record? Hmmm. Can that be right?

Nevada is 10-15 vs. the Mountain since 2013 by my count.

2-2 vs. USU, 3-1 vs NM, 1-3 vs Wyoming, 0-4 vs. Boise, 2-3 vs CSU, 2-2 vs AFA.

Fresno is 13-15 vs. the Mountain over that same period.

3-4 vs. Boise, 0-3 vs. AFA, 4-1 vs NM, 3-1 vs. Wyoming, 1-3 vs CSU, 2-3 vs. USU

Pretty sure everyone else is under .500 as well.  Mountain dominated the West in conference winning percentage from 2013-2019.

I dunno, I think most MWC teams this year would beat Ball State University.

WTF happened to Ball State.  They clownf***** SJSU in the bowl game last year. Thought they returned everyone and were talking about being the top G5 team.  Then they go and get destroyed by Penn State, Wyoming, and barely hang with an FCS school. Now sitting at 1-3.

More proof SUDS is one of the Top 2/3 in this Conference. 3 Conference titles (one shared) as well.

Sure you are one of the 3 best programs in the MWC.  The MWC simply does not have a big 3, though.  That would imply that the top 3 programs are all of similar quality.  They are not.  There is a Big 1 and SDSU is one of the 3 best programs.  SDSU football is closer to Nevada and Wyoming than it is to Boise.
