Border Patrol...

Well, it goes back farther than that.

But this current situation at the border is all on Biden.

Trump's border policies are now looking pretty good.  Biden just scrapped them without having a replacement plan.

Just what exactly do you want him to do?  He didn’t whip anybody.  It’s his job to stop people from illegally crossing the border.

the administration has created a crisis with its phucked up policy, forcing border patrol into an impossible situation, and you yahoo’s want to bitch at the agents?  Gimme a break and grow up.  If you have to physically stop somebody from illegally entering the country, it’s not going to make for a pretty picture

The incident in question, those crossing the river had already established camp in the USA with their families and were returning after buying groceries...No reason to charge them with your horse and shout get back to Mexico while swinging your reigns around, that's just dumb.

Agreed this is a Biden mess in large part.  Just like the unaccompanied minors over the spring, we knew it was coming and did nothing to prepare...how does this keep happening with this administration?  Are they ignoring their experts in hopes of winning an optics battle?  See Afghanistan, the above mentioned minor crises and now this.  The admin was TOLD what would happen, what was coming.

Or they steal SS cards...  I have no problem giving them guest worker visas, or green cards.  But we both know neither party wants that.

no they sure don't. this thread pretty successfully illustrates the gulf between party politics vs liberal and conservative politics. but, tough to get anything done without the organizational infrastructure of the party.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

If they fix it they no longer have a political talking point to get their base all riled up.

They were told to do it. There were too many people under the bridge causing a huge health crisis. People are defecating under there as well as preparing food.  I wouldn't be surprised if they had a cholera outbreak.

and fundraising. it is all about fundraising. from what I understand the national level democratic party is essentially purposefully doing nothing about the texas abortion law because in their analysis it will allow them to fundraise their asses off for 2022 and 2024. they are incentivized to lose policy battles that hurt their constituents so they can do better in elections.

Well they should not have been told to do it, then.  Clearly.  It's caused an optics situation that makes the issue at the border harder to control, not easier.  Whoever had that bright idea should be fired.

There’s no optics situation. Idiots jumped in a lie to cover up a disaster and are trying to blame two dozen people doing their jobs because. And because they don’t intend on addressing the problem they’ve created.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Wat?  You are saying this has not created bad optics, the kind that hurts goodwill among voters?  Nonsense.  Whether or not the Biden admin is happy with said bad optics taking heat of them does not matter.

So they should have allowed a major health crisis to have occurred in a health care system already overwhelmed so people on Twitter don't get their feelings hurt?

Inevitably some border patrol agents will get fired for doing what they were told.  Nothing will get resolved and we will move onto the next crisis...

fine by me. cbp needs to be dissolved and re-formed concurrent with legislation reforming the process in general

Extremely bad optics. Dudes in uniforms on horeseback chasing around migrants with whips.  Only an idiot would look at that and go - what's the problem? totally ok with me!!

Guess we will see. Maybe they shouldn't have told them to sit on their hands for 9 months while the Whitehouse came up with a new immigration plan.

And it's not just a dozen cowboys. They had hundreds of agents out doing the same thing, just without horses.

Don't you think there might be more to this incident than that?

There is no whip, and no one is getting whipped.
