Fresno State is ranked, bitches!

When you have AP voters like SJ Mercury's Jon Wilner not even voting for Fresno it holds the ranking down.

Well, we've had some decent games, but nowhere near as tough as the loss to USC

San Jose State
Announced: 85,235
Scanned: 33,892
Percentage: 39.8%
Actual Attendance Per Game: 5,648

Has auburn at 15 because they had a close loss at #3 on the road, but Fresno isn't ranked at all when their only loss was a close one at #5 on the road?

It's all about where you're ranked when the season starts. Even if everyone in front of Fresno loses twice and the Dawgs win out, they ain't rising above 8.

fUCLA should be below.

also coastal carolina silly overranked after squeaking by Buffalo

And GD Liberty has twice as many votes as SDSU, which IIRC had 41 votes a week ago and still has 41 votes despite being 3-0 after beating Utah which if I also remember correctly began the season ranked.

The coaches poll is such a joke.

Wilner head is so far up the Pac-12’s ass he has to use their mouth to breathe.   You will find most of the PAC-12 writers denigrating MWC schools.  It’s how they roll.

Given the Haener’s influence in Bay Area media it would be interesting if someone did an expose how he repeatedly screws Cal States and Fresno.

UTSA is 3-0 and in the 'receiving votes' area of the coaches poll...so in theory, if Memphis beats UTSA they could end up ~#25/26. interesting...makes that game bigger than I thought it would be. Interesting

That is why rankings should not come out until the first week in OCT.   This way we have a clue who is good and who is not.  There is a stat like in 18 of the last 19 years at least one team in preseason AP top 10 ends the season unranked.

I've been a proponent of something like this for years....

That vote doesn't feel deserved. But a (hopefully) easy win next week vs UConn, plus a bye week after might help us jump teams in front of us who will drop a game in the next 2 weeks

I can live with that. We still have to go cross country and win convincingly to get more, but yeah. Just a shame we don't have that big name this year like we normally do.

Nice !! This will be the 3rd straight week that UNLV has played a T25 ranked team !!!

O-4 for UNLV is all but guaranteed

Man, the UNLV game will be a great test if DeBoer can keep the focused one game at a time.  We just finished a tough UCLA game.  We play UNLV then have a tough 5 game run:

@ Hawaii  ( in Hawaii)

@ Wyoming (beat GT)

Nevada (beat Cal)

@SDSU (beat Utah)

Boise   (Should have beat OK State).

ugh   Thank god we get a bye between Hawaii and Wyoming    No one else is spanning that distance, climate, altitude, etc.   all against good teams

Don't  know how Hawaii and good teams can be mentioned in the same sentence.

But, yeah, things get interesting October 16. The Pac West is gonna bring out the wood.

I would feel better if we had Hawaii at home. Every time the Bulldogs travel to The Rock, some wacky shit always seems to happen.
