Nothing says bosom buddies like Berkeley and College Station.

Apparently, Aggie takes the fake army with them on road games and expects to be allowed to do a fake army parade down the home school's main street.  I'd have loved to see how that shit would have played in Berkeley, Seattle or South Central.

If true, short sighted.  They could have brought OUs academic profile up and had a great sports conference

I doubt there's much the B1G could have done to elevate OU's academics that much.  They couldn't keep Nebraska from getting kicked out, and OU would be even more of an academic outlier in the B1G.

Nebraska's issue with the AAU was technical, not academic.  AAU stopped counting their med school in Omaha because it wasnt on campus, and made changes to ag research measurements (which affected half the Big 10).  And any school would benefit for membership in the B10 Academic Alliance.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

Aggie will NEVER join the PAC12.  When the old PAC 16 idea was being floated, aggies were almost uniformly horrified at the prospect of being in a league with a bunch of communist-pervert schools like UCLA, USC, Stanford, Washington and UW.  And I'm pretty sure that those schools have little interest in adding the fake army, jar-jizzing freak show that is A&M.

this is 100% true

the only school from texass the pac-12 would consider adding at this point or going forward would be UT-Austin

Nebraska's academic profile has improved since they have been in the B1G.  Getting access to whatever they call the CIC now is huge.

It would have taken a big commitment from OU, but being in the B1G absolutely would have helped them academically.

All the rival LA gangs would come together in unity to bust up the parade.  It'd be a sight to witness

TCU and Texas Tech are high on the list for some schools in Pac-12 for potential expansion, but it does seem that both conferences are standing by the gentlemen's agreement not to raid each other's conferences, however with Bowlsby leaving who knows now

lemme guess…you saw it said by some fool on YouTube…lol

No, it was from Pac-12 commish and president of the schools, saying TCU and Texas Tech are very attractive candidates for expansion. Texas Tech already almost came to the Pac-12 once before a big issue is they need to get all 12 to sign off on it

There is no lol and again texas tech almost came to Pac-12 before, they are still on the list, do I think the will move on them, I think only if someone else raids Big12 first.

Cant speak for Tech, but there were some conversations in Fort Worth.  And it wasnt on Youtube.  Never made a big deal of it, because it was a long shot and I wasnt looking to be some insider, because I'm not.

exactly

as long as the conference is ruled by coastal californians it wont happen

im sure they talked about it...they probably talk about a lot of things...thats lsd country out there after all...but at the end of the day...it aint gonna happen

that said, you generally have reasonable takes...so wasnt directed toward you...hope youre holding up well with your recent loss

Seems like the whole thing was a Mexican standoff between the B1G, ACC, and Pac-12.

I think if one of them would have pulled the trigger on a Big 12 school or two there would have been a good chance the other two conferences would have jumped in and absorbed all the Big 12 schools. But nobody blinked, and the Big 12 survived. Ultimately it’s probably all for the better. The Big 12 is still a good conference, and four more schools get seats at the big boy table.

What about Rice University? I mean they would fit the academic profile of the Pac 12 for sure. Plus they are located in Houston as well. I guess the only thing holding back is that their sports kind of sucks. Having Rice in the Pac 12 would make the league even better with academics

It really comes down to finances I don't put much stock into the discussion but with TV deals up in the air anything is possible. However ACC is ripe for defection depending on terms. Both Big 10 and SEC have looked at ACC schools before and will again probably.

Again don't put much into it though

Especially since nothing can happen to the ACC schools until 2036.
