It really comes down to finances I don't put much stock into the discussion but with TV deals up in the air anything is possible. However ACC is ripe for defection depending on terms. Both Big 10 and SEC have looked at ACC schools before and will again probably.

Again don't put much into it though

Good luck, the ACC GOR is in place until 2036 IIRC.

No, it makes total sense.  A&M will give up all the gains they have made in the SEC and move to the PAC so Texas can be the lone school in Texas that is in the SEC, the best and most powerful conference in the country.  This way Texas has the upper hand while A&M makes less money and languishes with late start times in a conference most of the country doesn't care about.

Since the B1G already passed on Mizzou once, you have to wonder how much they would want them a 2nd time around.

Well UT was still available. It’s still true that St.Louis is the #23 metro and KC is #32 though. It also seems like rivalries will have increased value in the new era after so much change.

Mizzous choice all along was to go to the B1G and they looked to be the 12th member until Nebraska entered the picture.  I don't know if a Mizzou and KU rivalry move the needle enough.  I don't know if they can pull it off but I get the feeling the B1G would rather go East and Southeast rather than Southwest.

Well I think the whole expansion calculus has changed, that wave was the last gasp of TV market-based decision making. If there was ever a school the B1G may consider for something other than football, it’s KU, and Mizzou would be a very natural school to add with them.

But that being said, the B1G missed its window to poach a SEC school when OUT agreed to join the SEC. I do think the B1G would be interested in KU, but they aren’t going to add them by themselves and stay at an odd number, and they probably have no interest in ISU, KSU, or WVU. So, status quo it is for now.

I’m pretty sure the SEC finally added an exit fee recently. That makes Mizzou departing far less likely. I just think the KU/Mizz move is the best the BIG can do besides waiting a decade to see if the ACC collapses.

Illinois already gets them into St Louis.  Thats why Mizzou was of less value to the B10.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

Rumor is that OUT pitched themselves to the B1G as a package deal, and the B1G said we'll take UT but slammed the door on OU due to academics.  Not sure how valid it is, but it floated around after the initial news of OUT to the SEC broke.

Then honestly Texas A&M might start looking to leave somewhere. Maybe the PAC 12? I know they are currently ending their media deal next year?

Aggie will NEVER join the PAC12.  When the old PAC 16 idea was being floated, aggies were almost uniformly horrified at the prospect of being in a league with a bunch of communist-pervert schools like UCLA, USC, Stanford, Washington and UW.  And I'm pretty sure that those schools have little interest in adding the fake army, jar-jizzing freak show that is A&M.

Well thing is they weren't the only school that wasn't keen on Texas joining but A&M isn't going to leave the SEC

Oklahoma wasn't an AAU school and Big 10, at least for now, has said if they would expand again would like that school or schools to be AAU schools. That is why Georgia Tech, Virginia.  Kansas and North Carolina have been on their lists to possibly get

If true, short sighted.  They could have brought OUs academic profile up and had a great sports conference

Yea but if the projections are true and the SEC will pass the B1G in revenue, why would Mizzou even if there wasn’t an exit fee? And given the B1G’s strong desire to stay contiguous, if they were going to try and poach from the SEC technically the best move would be to add KU and…. UK.
