This thread is still going????

What is there to discuss?  It's over, go home!

Yup. I love realignment talk . . . when it's about FBS schools.

Only reason I can think of that a dozen or so posters here continue to regurgitate the same info about FCS schools is concern that the Molehill Worst will fold and their school will need a landing place because it has no chance to be among those promoted to a better conference, P5 or otherwise. In the meantime when I see that another half dozen pages have been added to the thread since I've viewed it, I wonder whether something besides the SOS has actually been discussed. But my bad for being so gullible.

There are more moves coming yet, not for the big boys but in the other conferences. WAC still looking for another school, C-USA still looking sounds like, we have Big East that might expand, who is Atlantic 10 going to lose? Where is TX-Arlington and Little Rock end up? There is still much going on, I think it will be quiet til the Spring though

And GCU with their money.

At the FBS level it is. Not many moves at the top basketball mid-major level either. Basically just waiting and seeing if the WCC replaces BYU and if the MVC replaces Loyola.

Well we know Belmont is moving to MVC already and Murray St has had talks with MVC as well to move there. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if WCC stayed still unless they invited maybe Seattle which I don't see happening.

However someone earlier in this thread said something cryptic about Gonzaga still not being happy in WCC but also Little Rock and Arlington could be leaving Sun Belt so it will be interesting to see if that happens and where they end up

This morning while getting a few things ready, read an article that Oklahoma and Texas weren't the only schools from the Big 12 that were talking with other conferences in July/August and that Kansas was in engaged in active talks with Big 10 to join them as well and a deal was close to coming together when the breaks were put on.

If the Pac 12 were to be raided by the Big 10: Oregon, USC, UCLA, UW, California Berkeley and the Big 12: Arizona, Arizona State ,Colorado, and then Utah could it possible we could end up seeing Washington State and Oregon State in the Mountain West?

and Stanford?  Oregon does not have the academics for the Big 10

Yeah, they did.  And do.  Nebraska's departure from the AAU was due to 2 factors - 1) their med school is in Omaha so research there didnt count and 2) their major agricultural research was downgraded.

The louder someone claims to know something, the less they generally know.

Interesting 9 of the 12 schools in Pac 12 are AAU schools

Yeah the B10 would only want to add AAU schools and the Pac 12 would provide that. Oregon State and Washington State would be left tbh. Could see them coming to the Mountain West

I was really hoping that the PAC 12 and the BIG 12 would pick off the top teams for the Mountain West. Resulting in the MWC to dissolve or go down to the FCS ranks.

I just don't think the MWC is good attractive conference anymore. MWC had a chance to strive when BYU, Utah and TCU were in it. But Craig Thompson couldn't do enough to persuade them all to stay.  Now I feel MWC has a bad TV contract on its hands. Not enough TV time.

So when the next round of realigning, I hope it puts the MWC in the dirt.
