Honest question--do you think USU is capable of getting any A-List or B-List coach until you're clear your Title IX NCAA investigation? It seems like no coach is going to want to go there until any potential penalties are known. If Harsin has only 5-7 years left, he doesn't want t spend 3 of them on a team with not a level playing field.
agswin
How much more Title IX investigating is anyone expecting or anticipating or wanting to see at this point? There has been a comprehensive and extended review of the entire Utah Sate Athletic Department by the DOJ. The Head Football Coach, an Associate AD, and other Athletic Department Staffers were terminated as a result of the extensive DOJ review and the findings the DOJ came upwith. At this point, I am not sure that further useful or instructive information is coming out. Would not it have come out already? Anyway, I am sure that the complete details of the report are in the public domain and a simple GRAMA request would be able to secure them. Harsin is an adult and I'm sure if him or his representative have an interest in the position and do have a legitimate lingering concern about Utah State Athletics, I have no doubt they have the intelligence and wherewithal to bring it up and discuss it. For Harsin, what better situation exists than something like a great final run at a place like Utah State as they transition into the PAC for a run of 5-7 years, as he grooms a rising young coach, like Dreillng to take ove when he choses to ride off into retirement. CKS007
And it looks like any FCS is not an option for the Mountain West with the House Settlement issues going on. This won't hurt the Mountain West as they already have the teams they need. Worse case scenario, they grab New Mexico State.

smithy
Supposedly, NDSU wants full invite, but MW is thinking football only, which maybe the hangup. Personally they should have gone for the Montana schools, but maybe MW is not all in.

SteedLaw
Little birds are telling me the PAC media rights valuations are going exceptionally well. So well that UCONN and up to 2-6 additional teams from the AAC are in discussions to potentially make the jump after the end of the year. As in…it is happening. Wanted to check here to see if anyone had heard the same. 1

If so, hopefully they can add some more BB only schools to the mix and help the nPAC develop a whole separate BB division. Just like how Brett Yormark is trying to do for the B12. The only way UNLV leaves the MWC is if the MWC doesn't get the $$ it promised them from the future PAC schools and I don't see that happening. The PAC screwed up not inviting them initially into the PAC with the other 3 schools.

If Harsin has desires to continue to coach, does he have the chops to rein in a position substantially better than the PAC bound USU job? Don't flame, While Hill or Mendenhallor some others make decent hires at this juncture for Utah State, Harsin be the kind of hire that would really set the program on fire. IMHO.. I'm just asking for other's opinion for a friend,
