The FCS is a shell of what it was just 10 years ago, we enjoyed playing against JMU, Geogia Southern, Sam Houston, Coastal Carolina and Jacksonville State in the FCS playoffs, the level of competition was a big deal for the fanbase and now that the FCS has become basically the Missouri Valley vs the Big Sky we are are ready to move on. Do you have to be invited as a full member or as a football only member?

Football only would be easier but the school is ready to raise the athletic budget by $10-15 million based on what I have heard. So I think either option would be possible. Fargo to Denver Flights Daily, so this "TRAVEL blah blah" is non sense. NDSU raised $55 million for new football IPF. NDSU is totally uptapped for Aggressive Fundraising if the Carrot was there to be dangled. I'm talking OIl Money, Farm Money, Bobcat, Scheels, Sanford, Case IH, Tharaldson Hotel Systems, Doug Burgum Software Money, I can name 10 Millionaires in the $100 million range that would be all over NDSU to PAC or MWC. RebelRobert
MWC should make Hawaii a full member and just stop with the eight we currently have. No reason to add anymore. If for some reason we do have to add ONE more team, it should come from this list: Arkansas State Southern Miss Louisiana Tech New Mexico State I prefer we just make Hawaii a full member and stop. Please no FCS teams nobody ever heard of or some no namers in Texas or North or South Montana/Dakota etc. 2
lakesbison
no namers? LOL NDSU has been on ESPN more than UNLV. NDSU at UNLV the 1st game they play would have 25,000+ NDSU fans easily

MWC needs to take UTEPs buddy NMSU. It just makes so much sense that it'll never happen lol

Of Course, in exchange NDSU keeps it's current $2 million TV deal locally. NDSU could even take a lower % for the first 5 years because we will make it up fundraising as a FBS team. but if NDSU wins the MWC and is your CFP participant, then NDSU should get a bigger % that year. because NDSU would 12-0 Wyoming's Schedule this year. 1
utaggies
On 10/1/2024 at 5:03 PM, YesReally said: How have the media people holding mwc contract not come back to MWC and said without BSU football and then SDSU, we should not pay the same. We will not get the same advertisers paying. I’m not sure I understand your question if, in fact, you actually posed a question. But I’ll take a swing at your statement. For one more season after the current one we’re in the MWC is comprised of the teams that are currently in the conference. So the media contract remains the same approximately $5 million/team that it has been. For the season beginning in the summer of 2026 all bets are off. The MWC5 will have departed to the PAC12. As soon as the MWC has its full contingent of 8 teams is when things will get real. That’s when we’ll know the value of the departing MWC members and the value of the MWC newcomers. The same holds true for the PAC12. Until those media negotiations take place things are only speculative. But it stands to reason that the MWC’s contract will be much less in 2026 than it is today as the five departing schools were among the six MWC schools with the greatest viewership.

In terms of football quality, there aren't many other better options of schools who have sustained winning. Northern Illinois is a good team who is at the edge of a bigger market. They are at edge of the MAC geographic footprint and are also ambitious. Texas St no doubt wants to wait for a P12 offer--but the P12 might be a bit paralyzed--they really want Memphis or an AAC school but seems like they can't afford them until they get the settlement money back from the MWC. They still can’t afford them. They don’t have a media deal. PAC keeps offering free lessons in how not to operate..

There’s a breakaway coming and every school added now takes more away from everyone else.
