Might freeze UNLV in the MW for the time being and slow things down. 

Likely will delay payments.

Might be the last ditch effort to avoid paying fees or merger as this new PAC is a financial disaster (without the AAC members).

After the courts decides is when its payment time (doubt they will want to pay) or talk of merging. 

I’ve seen this before in business and the lawsuit (as them the Plaintiff) is actually showing weakness that the business efforts failed yesterday.

Now they have a relatively low cost option to litigate (relatively speaking compared to the fee totals).  They do not want to pay those fees for this version of the conference.

You really cannot make this stuff up. Supposedly, AFA and UNLV are both highly reconsidering their positions yesterday and are thinking of both joining the PAC together rather than stay with the MWC -- potentially making a move by EOD. 

And...USU is the cause???!!!!

I suspect they were being looked at back when Memphis and the rest were. I highly doubt they'd be in play now

apparantly Memphis was also trying for the Pac-12 football only and the BE for all other sports but the Pac-12 said no.

Pac-12 tried to play hard ball and it cost them Memphis, Tulane, USF, and UTSA.

USU is now part of the PAC7 and PAC7 is suing the MWC to get out of the poaching fees.

 

I really hope the B12 goes to only 8 conference games so BYU can play these old PAC7 rivals more.

Why doesn't Hawaii kick-off games at 10 am Hawaii time? given daylight savings it would be ~4 pm Pacific time, primetime East Coast. Maybe no one on the east coast cares but it seems better than playing at 1 a.m. on the east coast. Plus teams traveling over there are still 6 hours + later so they could play at 10 am no problem. Hawaii could schedule more central and east coast teams OOC and get more eyeballs. Locals could tailgate breakfast, have an early game and still have their whole evenings free. just sayin

The humidity was horrible--they have done it for a few national telecasts that TV wanted but attendance (back then) was like 10-15k lower--arguably it would matter less now.

I'd argue that their unique time slot is more of an advantage now.

Memphis would have taken the all sports offer if they would have tripled the tiny 2.5m towards exit fees and offered some kind of guarantee re the yearly payout other than the firm that got you to turn down 30m from ESPN

I'm kinda pissed but not at Memphis or the AAC...at Teresa Gould for going in cheap with a weak offer.

I doubt the Big East would have signed up for that even if the PAC had said yes. With the exception of UConn, who's kind of grandfathered in, they only want small Catholic private schools.
