I don't understand what your flex here is.  You are either going to be in the shell of the MWC or in a conference with USU.  So what's your point?  Your predictions from a year ago were certainly off, that UNLV was going to be the prime target of the PAC-2 when they came to destroy the MWC, and USU certainly wasn't going to be the 5th choice.  Your posts from a year ago have aged very poorly.  So what exactly is it you are trying to gloat about?

adding SJSU and Itah State when the MWC was the worst move possible and killed the conference. Those who made that decision have only themselves to blame for where we are today.

This conference would never have been raided by the PAC-2. OSU/WSU would have joined willingly. Choices have consequences. I screamed when you added SJSU and Utah St because the MWC died that day. Poor choice.

And I was the only ONE who was right that the PAC-2 would raid us while I was told by countless other newbie trolls that I was wrong. I wasn’t wrong, I was right. PAC-2 are clowns who went about it wrong and almost killed themselves. But I was right. Go reread the thread clown.

Just announced UTSA was offered by the PAC12 and they declined, staying in the AAC.

As usual, your clownish logic outs you as the clown.  When a school whose addition allegedly caused the raid 11 years later ends up as one of the schools that was raided and taken, your entire argument falls flat on its ass.  Ultimately, when all is shaken out, the end result will be closer to a merger than "the Pac-2 will DESTROY YOU!"  As it stands, it is your beloved Rebels who appear to have been caught with their pants down by none other than...Utah State.  Ultimately, the conference was "destroyed" by two schools whose opinion of themselves and their value has always been overinflated (SDSU and BSU).  Now they have egg on their face for paying through the nose and starting a domino effect, all for the sake of a lateral move.

Seems like the MW has a clear picture now.

Air Force/UNLV leave (Air Force AAC, UNLV Pac). MW has like 200 mil in buyout monies for the 5 core schools left. Add UTEP/NMSU (still leaves the CUSA with 10 schools so they are still a whole conference). Add as many of the fcs schools that want to make the jump. New member get none of the buyout money. The core 5 each get 40 mil.

Who is to say the remaining 5 plan to stay and rebuild the MWC?  I am sure UNM wants out of town as well.  I don't know UTEP/NMSU leave without some type of GOR type guarantee that the remaining 5 are sticking around.  CUSA is a stable home.  If it gets down to 4 or 3 schools, is a rebuild worth it?  I still can't believe the PAC2 destroyed the MWC.  Crazy.  Everything was pointing to a merger just a couple months ago.

Everything was pointing to merger. There has to be more to the story than is being reported. 

For now, though, the merger option is completely dead. Looking like a big day again today as UNLV, UConn, and Gonzaga are all still “thinking” about what to do next with their future potential involvement with the PAC 12. 

Whether it is being reported or not, I believe there are others (Air Force for one), that are also reconsidering. 

Time will tell, but it is sure looking crazy right now and anything could still happen.

Only if MWC got down to 4 teams or less.  It won't happen if MWC is able to hold on to 6 or even 5.  Pure speculation.

By the time the dust has settled 9 teams from the MWC will be in the Pac12, AAC and CUSA. The conference will dissolve, and no exit fees will be paid to the remaining teams. The Pac12 will add Gonzaga and it will rival the Big East as a basketball conference. In addition, the Pac 12 conference will have Football to add to the value of the conference (which the Big East does not have at the moment). 

I believe legalized gambling is driving college sports more than ever. High profiled West Coast games will be a MUST for Draft Kings, Fan Duel, MGM, Etc... given the late-night time slot. Being a "Power" conference will become irrelevant within the next decade. College football will need a true west coast conference to fill a void. People laugh about Pac 12 Football now but that will change. But there is no denying the Pac 12 will be an incredible basketball conference!

The 5 departing teams already gave up their ability to vote on MWC matters when they announced their departure. The MW might eventually shut down but those schools will get paid $150m+ between them.

I thought if they reached 9 teams that would change? Sounds like I'm wrong.  I guess that's a big question.... find a new conference or take the $

This is why, the future looks alright for the West Coast teams in terms of national tv distribution. The number of channels, streamers are only increasing.

Agreed. IF Hawaii ended up as an independent for Football, they will be fine. You might be able to schedule more home games and add revenue.

We have a bigger TV market than the Spuds and Dogs, had the 4th most TV viewership and have brought in the 3rd most revenue over the last few years. The P12 looking to Memphis and company was always a pipe dream.   USU was always in the picture from a realistic perspective.

That is true about market size but Boise pulls in way more viewership than it's own market. Fresno brings in extra eyes too. It's gonna be a fun conference.

I sleep better thinking this.  Would prefer a stable conference with great rivalries and geographic fit.
