It's still a solid play, if the four weren't sold on the prestige and allure of the "PAC". If all teams stayed, it would have forced the PAC to join the MWC. OSU and Wazzu played them. They may have been insecure, but that changed to hubris which made them jump, thinking the brand would be strong enough to pull Memphis, etc into a cross country structure. They wanted to get ahead of the power structure, and word even got out they would want UNLV to take less to join. The issue has always been the WSU and OSU boosters who absolutely did not want a move to the MWC. As a Lobo fan I have always loved playing in this conference and I hope what is left of it can stick together. While I will miss the four that elected to move on, there is still a decent core left that can be built upon. Would be amazed if Gloria was able to hold the conference together from getting picked off by the PAC6 after the AAC got the members who were on the edge of leaving to stick to the conference. If you sign the GOR hoping the others will but one of these signers does not, they will get the invite and you will be left behind. That's how it unravels so quickly.
