Divisions at the g5 level in today’s climate can make it tougher to get your best team into the playoffs.  I think it makes more sense to put your best two teams against each other regardless of where they finished in the division to maximize that chance.

Scheduling wise, I think there’s ways to make it work.  Have three permanent rivalries, three teams on a two year rotation, and three teams on a 3 year rotation.  You play everyone in 3 years.  This is assuming 9 conference games.  Obviously this could change since G5’s are increasingly reliant on ‘buy games’.. and some conferences are discouraging ooc g5 games like the sec.  There are some moving parts for sure.

The panel seems to be talking a lot about ucf though for what it’s worth, they all picked ucf to outperform the most relative to sp+ and all picked them as the dark horse ccg candidate.  It’s not in your nature to be honest or accountable though so please carry on with your entertaining and leave the substance to others.

I guess you might be watching old rerun AAC media days because nobody on the live broadcast on ESPNU said a word about UCF. 
 

They probably aren’t going to spend too much time on a team picked to finish 8th other then saying they are in the conference.  That would be terrible for TV ratings to go on and on about a school nobody cares about outside of Orlando.

He said Oregon and Washington pulled the pin on the PAC grenade, that was USC and UCLA.  He spent too much time referencing Canzano numbers which are literally meaningless.  No credible journalist quotes Canzano these days.

Grezus..... what's so great about OSU and WSU?  There are good reasons they got left behind.....Canzano is full of sh*t.....What network is going to pay 80 mil for those 8 schools?  Dream on ....the best move is a full merger that makes the MWC/P2 the only West Coast Conference....

Totally agree on the full merger and even though I’m a Wazzu alum I hope WSU & OSU drop the budget threshold talk. Too many athletic departments are already swimming in red ink and don’t need to be required to spend more on top of that.

Wazzu & OSU are looking at a drop of $ 20 million in annual media revenue, they can cut their budgets and operate within the same parameters as most of the MW schools already do.

It is tragic to lose such a substantial swath of your budget all at once, but please try to see it a bit from a G5 perspective.

How much were WSU/OSU really adding to the PAC12 bottom line?

There are reason your PAC12 uncles dropped you off at the train station and drove away.
