UNC, Clemson, Florida State and 1-3 other current members should just go ahead and leave the ACC this month.

And go where?  Ain't nobody gonna want them without their media rights.

They’re still juggling PAC and BigXII invites….

Where did @Yoda go? Maybe the mayor of Fresno fired him from their marketing department when they found out he was spewing lie after lie and propaganda.

I’m still trying to figure out how Fresno’s TV footprint is all 30+ million in Cali and 10 other Western states.

Is San Diego State still being considered for the PAC-12?

San Diego State and UNLV will be cornerstones of the Pac 12.

The best possible scenario for San Diego State was for the Big 12, Big 10, and (finally) ACC to gut the Pac 12 of those teams.

Now SDSU doesn't have to don the Pac 12 patch with a membership that turns up their noses at them.

SDSU can be a foundational piece now instead of getting the Utah spot from 10 years ago.

On the conference realignment message board someone posted this video about GCU and Seattle joining the WCC.  The part that made me say "oh really" started at the 4:05 mark.  The presenter talks about the upcoming Enrollment Cliff that is happening between 2025-2029.  College presidents are expecting a 15% decrease in 18-year-olds.  This would result in fewer students for universities.  The presenter theorized that presidents would be looking at schools in the athletic leagues that would get the name of their institutions out to possible new students in major exporting states.  It lists the top 25 states that export college-aged students.  With Washington and Arizona being one of the tops in the west it may have been a factor for both Seattle and GCU with their invitations.

I think this may be a factor on the minds of the MWC presidents when the topic of future expansion comes up for the league.  Not just recruiting athletes, but general college students as well.   The MWC already has schools in California and Colorado.  But three other top exporting western states listed were Arizona, Texas and Washington.

I don't know of any schools in Arizona and Washington that the MWC could attract (other than the possible merger bringing in WSU).  Texas however has quite a few to pick from.   This could be a strike against schools located in lower populated states.

Yes.  So are Wyoming, Air Force, New Mexico, CSU, Utah State, Boise, UNLV, Fresno State, Nevada, San Jose State and Hawaii.

That makes sense. Some friends live in Pueblo, CO (home of CSU-Pueblo). Several years ago, they said the school struggled until they joined whatever conference they are in now, and then they started to get a lot of out-of-state students (mostly from Texas).

Your right all are being considered, a few of those teams as plan A and the rest as a back up plan.

Well the ACC just wrapped up 3 days of meetings, and apparently not a whisper about the "West Coast pod" that my delusional fellow Cougs think will save us. And we already know what the Big-12 thinks about us.

But our monkey administrators will sit on their asses hoping.....

Oh and I'm still waiting for one of you SDSU posters to identify the Coug pictured in my avatar......

My only guess would be Paul Wulff, possibly the worst HC in your history who, IIRC, helped break a lengthy SDSU losing streak against P5 schools.

The WAC may be in serious danger of surviving once again. Tarleton, UT-Arlington, Stephen F Austin, and Abilene Christian are now trying to get back into the Southland.

https://www.americanpress.com/2024/05/14/slc-open-to-taking-back-sfa-others-might-follow/

If so that would leave the WAC with only Cal Baptist, Southern Utah, Utah Tech, and Utah Valley. Hard to imagine them surviving but we've thought this before.
