The courts haven't even decided which lawsuit in the ACC imbroglio even takes precedence.  That stuff could go on for years.  So no ACC raid and no AAC raid, so that eliminates the AAC scenario at the very least.

John Canzano was wrong at every turn of the Pac 12 implosion. He literally said that George Kliavkoff was kicking ass.

I know RebelRobert will disagree with me on this but Gloria Nevarez has made the MWC poach proof. It will be OSU & WSU that need to come to the MWC, not the other way around. There is strength in numbers.

Almost correct.  OSU & WSU will not come to the MWC.  The entirety of the MWC will go to the Pac brand.  Same thing you're saying, just a different flag.  OSU/WSU will likely see this as some sort of victory.  It's not.  They already lost.  We're just stealing their brand.

As many have mentioned I highly doubt that there is any truth to this, however IF (and that is a huge IF) this happened the MWC would at least be in a position to backfill quite easily and I don't think it'd be a bad looking Conference:

Not only will 4 or 5 MW schools not be joining the PAC2, but it's becoming clear the best thing for the MW schools in the death of the PAC and PAC brand. You can already see the media and sports fans commenting about the "only remaining truly Western conference". The MW brand is ascendant and if we can get 2 or more schools to the S16 we will ride a new wave of attention into the next school year.

The "PAC" brand is tarnished, i agree with you

If the MWC merges into the "PAC-2", it will have to regularly hear comments about how the "new PAC" is weak compared to the "real PAC", and that none of the old championships won by the PAC-10 really apply

I'd prefer a complete rebrand.  merge the MWC and PAC2, and rebrand it as the "Mountain Pacific" conference.   then heavily market it as the only major athletic conference of the west.

I know as others have said, this is highly unlikely but if it were to happen the six left behind(not sure how Hawaii calculates in but they woud most likely receive something) would be fine or better than fine. HAve somewhere between $140 million and $225 million(depending on when they would leave and if the exit fee is 17 or 34 million) to split between us would help dry our tears and rebuild our teams and conference and hamstring our biggest competitor.
