SalinasSpartan
Assuming the MAC adds a CUSA school to get to 14, I wonder who they take? I saw MTSU and WKU thrown out, but I wonder if they will consider Delaware? It isn’t too awkward of a geographical fit with UMASS and Buffalo. Montana and Montana State should try to go with them. With the group of schools they have there is no way they'll be able to move up as a Conference due to lack of money, facilities etc. That idea has been pretty much scrapped, especially with the UAC probably losing Tarleton State to CUSA (rumors)

lakesbison
NDSU to MAC got some steam. But NDSU officials keep hinting that they want a Mountain West Invite. (NDSU said No to CUSA) sooooo. Tick Tock. We waiting 1

But maybe that MWC invite is in the cards down the road.... Or maybe not. If NDSU had a formal invite and not just a conversation with CUSA, they should have taken it and ran with it - assuming they really want to move up to FBS of course. NMSU in its first year in CUSA made it to the championship game, a second bowl game in a row and third in 7 seasons, and knocked off Auburn the week before they gave up a last second TD pass to lose to playoff bound Alabama. You never know what can happen, but if the school is serious they need to make the jump to FBS already. The only hope for NDSU getting a MWC invite is a best of the rest formed by WSU and OSU, resulting in multiple schools leaving. What are the odds of that? I'd say less than 5%, and that's being generous. UMass is moving to the MAC. Delaware is joining CUSA in 2025. Is NDSU going to just keep waiting for something that may never happen?

I know…. and TCU was set to join the Big East and during their lame duck time in the MWC got a Big 12 invite and took that instead. The MAC has 13 schools and CUSA has 11, seems pretty reasonable to predict that the MAC will try to add a CUSA school that makes sense geographically, it’d leave both conferences with an even number of schools. I’ve seen MTSU and WKU tossed out as possibilities, but I wonder if Delaware might get looked at as well.

Because you’d think the CUSA/MAC would take them but Publicly NDSU admin has never said anything and it’s hurting the fanbase

I'm surprised that Delaware chose C-USA over the MAC, but maybe the recruit a lot more in the south? It does seem that there's some smoke for WKU. Previously, they wanted to join the MAC but the MAC would only take them with MTSU who wasn't interested.

As such, there's no way the B1G would ever want a red neck military school like A&M. Texas A&M is AAU, and a top 50 university nationally. The Big Ten would certainly take them, can't imagine that they'd be interested though.
