Use your brain bruh What is the agenda you are pushing? Find some semblance of critical thinking somewhere..you're being a parrot to a national narrative that simply isn't true. You're brain is washed sorry OK don't answer the question Einstein. Are you talking academics or athletics, or just football? How did UW get more than 8 hours from Pullman. Are we talking driving time or x-country skiing? What exactly is the pool of universities that you are comparing WSU against?

I mean, for those who graduated high school in the pnw, the options are UW, leave the state, or...you know, go off to good old college town, USA for 4 years and get the actual going off to college experience... And here is a news flash, growing up in Seattle, you might want to get away from the dreariness of it all. WSU is the best home away from home for so many, because you can always go back and feel like you are back in college again..after you graduate and especially when you retire. UW is just a bus stop lol Nice theatre though, I'll give them that.

They're still a better school than WSU both academically and athletically. My agenda? The notion that WSU/OSU are somehow head and shoulders above the MWC in any category is being pushed and couldn't be more wrong. It would be nice to have both in our league, but we wouldn't be damn lucky to have you. It's the other way around.

Even if I'd have gone to those Cali schools but Hollywood can keep on waiting lol, hey, I'm still omw there. My plan is to go watch bball in Cali next year, should be interesting. Oh, and also to participate in the actual academics of it all too..which is actually what, you know, universities are for lol I'd say the mwc isn't as respected as it should be and can be a top conference comparable to any.. especially with the death of the old pac. Long live the pac. People forget about vacuums a lot, it's an interesting fact of cognitive dissonance. It's like people can't pass the liquid volume test given to toddlers, except more in theory and not just in practical physics. xisnotx, lol Calford will give up, the East coast bias is real though so who knows... So... Just win, baby... idk, maybe poach from the big 10/12 once the dust settles more. Make em weaker lol Ground up, top down. Induction, deduction... Good will out. Charity doesn't end at home.. Anyway, expansionism vs reductionism Inclusivity vs exclusivity In group vs out group, base monkey thinking So, tribalism.. But not my isms... fwiw people in the pnw tend to be more heady than most other places I've been.. Seattle isn't horrible, just take B12 capsules and realize that rain is a blessing :) Your child could do worse than the PNW aka Amazon, aka Microsoft, aka Intel, aka Nike, aka etc etc anyway, again, use your brain. History is literally happening lol..The PNW is probably in a top 5 of most influential places to have been in this era of history. Cali is good too lol

Not sure what you mean by "heady", but not the sharpest knives in the drawer by and large IMO. Influential isn't always a good thing. A lot of good has come out of that area, but also a whole lot of bad.

I've lived on the East coast, Nevada a bit, and I see Cali all over the media, lived in Hawaii too... idk, I'd disagree but your experience isn't mine. In the halls of NASA, lowly graduates of the Ivies, MIT, Cal Tech, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Berkeley and the other UC campuses, Purdue amd the other B1G schools, Carnegie-Mellon, U-Dub, UVA, UNC, Rice, Texas et al know to make way when a vaunted UCF grad passes by. Getting into UW is literally like a 3.0 gpa and you're in. In engineering it's even like 2.5 if you're transferring lol Let's just call it what it is.. I wouldn’t send my kids to Seattle or any school for that matter, unless they have a very clear idea as to what they are going for. I mean, imagine encouraging your children to go $100k-$200k in debt, all so they can pretend to be adults, and so they can “find themselves.” It’s insanity. Currently you need seven full members for a basketball conference. I don't believe 818's scenario of a Cal-led West coast Ivy League would work without Nevada or Hawaii. There simply aren't enough institutions for Berkeley that are available and acceptable to them in-state, Oregon and Washington. Nevada and Hawaii are state flapships. Much easier to stomach aligning with. Why call it an Ivy League if it would be nothing like it in any way, shape, or form?

Could’ve built up their brand by beating up on the netherlings of the MAC and then try to make their way up the conference food chain before now. They waited too long to make a move but they had to do something now to try and make the playoff as staying as an independent didn’t give them any chance at all.
