AztecSU
@RSF, if the PAC places less than 5 teams in the NCAA tourney, the MW will have a higher % of teams going to the tourney on average since the COVID season. Its becoming a trend. No one is saying the MW is the B12/BE, but if the PAC is/was considered a Power Conference in hoops it seems the MW is about to take its place. Haha.

Congrats. Doesnt change anything. MWC is 12-26 in the tournament during the time frame you tried to provide as proof. Several of those years were 1-bid years, and 5 of those wins were last year by SDSU. The MWC is having a great year this year, and should be acknowledged. Now do it for a decade or more. 1 Quote It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

The Pac-12 earned 19 units in 2021, seven in 2022 and seven more in 2023. That's 33 units in the last three years, or about four times as many as the MWC. RSF
Meanwhile.... https://theathletic.com/5272749/2024/02/13/college-football-playoff-espn-media-rights-deal/ ESPN and the College Football Playoff are in agreement on a six-year, $7.8 billion extension that will make the network the home of the 12-team tournament through the 2031-32 season, sources briefed on the deal told The Athletic. The full contract’s completion is still contingent on CFP leaders finalizing details of the expanded format in the wake of the implosion of the Pac-12. The CFP’s management committee and board of managers have meetings scheduled for next week and continue to work through the complicated process of settling their outstanding issues. The ESPN deal will not be ratified until the commissioners and presidents vote on the structure and financials of the expanded CFP. ESPN senior vice president of communication Josh Krulewitz and College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock both declined to comment. Not bad for a mid-major. Meanwhile, depending on what happens this year the % of MW teams making the tourney since 2021 is likely to exceed 33% of conference members. And when we add Gonzaga/WSU/OSU we'll likely get the official nod from the media. Deal with it B12 interlopers. Wait? Is the MWC a mid-major now or power conference? How many of all those power conference squads got bumped in the first round of the tournament? Kudus to you for doubling, even tripling, down on one of your dumbest takes on this thread. That’s saying something considering your constant defense and pimping of the PAC.

That the MW is not a power conf in hoops and instead a mid-major. No? Has that not been your point?

Just a couple years ago the MWC ranked lower than the WCC for several consecutive years. Power conference indeed. That's been my mantra for 5-6 years now. However, I am becoming hopeful that the MWC has moved up a notch. Not just because SDSU got to the NC game a year ago but also because, with a couple exceptions, conference teams have become much more physical than they used to be. Although some teams do manage success in March Madness just through popping in shots from behind the arc, for the most part it's physicality that allows for more than just two-and-dones. In case you hadn't noticed - and clearly you hadn't - this thread is a mosh pit of issues related to realignment. And the CFP TV deal is one of those, and has been talked about here before. And directly affects all the conferences, including the MWC. I'm sorry the timing was inconvenient for you. That you can't grasp that is not really my problem. This had to be one of the best acts of self sabotage I’ve seen in a while. Trying to call a meeting so that the ten leaving schools (technically no longer members) can plunder the resources of the very organization that you run. Against the interest of the only two remaining members.
