I'm not sure it will be the NCAA. The new subdivision will basically be created by ESPN and FoxSports and I doubt they give a damn about pleasing the NCAA. (CBS does but their interest is in MM.) From what I can tell, the B1G and the SEC also don't much care about the NCAA so I can see them partnering with ESPN and Fox to create an entirely new governing entity for their football. One they view not as an impediment but as something they can control.

Public institutions are beholden to public sensibilities and that is the end of that discussion.

Let me give these people actual things to worry about then..

Baker is an impressive guy but he's only the NCAA's president. IOW, he's beholden to not just the 60 or so schools that would form the new subdivision but the 300 other Division I colleges and universities about 20% of which also play FBS football. Call me naive but I can see those little guys voting against Baker on this.

Yeah...because that's not giving up in the least.

I wouldn't want to be associated with people who were spineless like that lol, you all are giving up on cfp spots and national titles for yourselves too..

The schools that are losing in all this are not WSU/OSU, do you not want a chance at a title?

You play to win the game.

You don't play just to play it.

And if you do, give up. Get out. Retire.

lol.  You need to make up your mind.

That's what we did...30 years ago.  When we were the original 'left behind' school.  And we succeeded in clawing our way back.  With no guarantees it is permanent (and it may not be).  So we keep playing the game.  On and off the field.  So I sympathize because I've been there.  You're the one proposing you give up, not anybody else.

Grow up, quit whining, and get to work.

College playoff expansion must lead to more inclusivity and not less...

2  And any top tier NCAA division must be done on a school by school basis, not by conferences...otherwise worthy schools will be left out, and undeserving schools will be allowed in.

The promise of a college football championship has never been equally distributed, and they want to make it worse and more exclusionary, all the whole maxing profits for them by increasing exposure only to them?

1.  Why, because you say so?

2.  Your school, and all the MWC schools, are "undeserving"...deal with it. As you mentioned, "it's just a game".

Maybe. If it does, it's probably only going to be the top 60 teams? They will figure out a way to squeeze the G5's out of it.

G5's?  They're not even an afterthought. It'll be more like 48 schools, and most of the B12 and ACC ain't getting in.  B10 and SEC will take care of their legacy schools like Indiana and Mississippi State, but they're not bringing in more poverty programs.  I'm guessing a super league of 48. Existing B10 and SEC are your first 34. That's 14 spots to go.

Locks: Notre Dame, FSU, Clemson, UVA, UNC, Miami, Stanford.

7 spots left. ???

You have a chance at getting back in it but the loser mindset was cemented long ago, glad I don't know that history..

If it took you 30 year to develop such a mindset, it will take me 60. Hopefully, never..I want winners

Life isn't fair, is a cop out.

Life is as fair as we make it to be.

Growing up isn't about giving up.

Life isn't about giving up. Mine isn't, at least.

The idea was mine lol, NFL affiliated teams, break the rules then and athletes that sign with the pac 2 and non div 1 programs can sign contracts with the NFL day 1

If the NCAA want to be exclusionary, then those not affiliated with their D1 aren't beholden to their rules.

And I'd say that student athletes that want to be entered into the NFL drafted after 1 year of college is fine by me.

The real this is, why are they being exclusionary to the tune of just 2 schools...like, literally nothing changes for anyone else except wsu and OSU.

It's a witch hunt.

Princess, I'm not stupid.

So if you want to talk, just talk.

Or just kill me then, tf

No need to kill my school and OSU with it lol.

Just a power trip and I'm tired of communicating with these people as if they don't exist.

Why do you seem to think WSU and OSU should be on a pedestal above any of the MWC schools? What did they ever do to deserve Pac membership with the big boys? Did Idaho "deserve" to be dropped many years ago?

Reading it seems to be related to the law-suit filled on behalf of women athletes wanting some of the billions in NIL money. They want to force schools to share their billions in NIL money with the women.

So they really decided to kill off a whole university, and another, because of a power trip?

It's all just a power move, obviously. Malia and them, they're going to hate me at WSU because that's the only reason why really..

If you want to call out facts.

Or maybe just a rant.

Holy shit. Do you have so little regard for your university that you believe it's nothing without a huge athletic department?

Facts are there is money in the game, more interest, and that money needs to be more evenly distributed and not hoarded continuously as it is wont to be in modern day oligarchic America.

The MWC and Pac should be allowed into the cfp.

There's no reason why university of Hawaii, UNLV, Wyoming, Utah, AF get left out..when the tides are more interest hence inclusivity...

Public sentiment "says so", that people want more inclusion..that's why they expanded the playoffs lol..

I'm pretty sure wsu/OSU had a part in that too, the vote for an expanded playoffs lol...

No, because the schools dont distribute any NIL money.  And the lawsuit has nothing to do with NIL money.

Do you know anything about WSU?

Athletics is a pretty big deal there lol

It's not a game, in that respect..

To answer your question though, no, I think if WSU gave up football they'd end up fine.

And also, WSU pretty much is being forced into that decision..

They are.  When they are good enough.  Like Washington (you know, from the Pac) this year.

Sure there is.  It's called 'not being good enough'.  For all the issues with the selection committee, its still a meritocracy.

I've only read one article on that law-suit and that's what it stated. I know the schools don't distribute that money its done privately apart from the school. But it sure sounds like that is what he's talking about.                                                                Baker said the changes would help level the playing field between men’s and women’s athletics by forcing schools to abide by gender equity regulations as they invest.
