According to reports last week there are 420 mill in Rose Bowl and conference distribution for the 2023-2024 season. That's what the 10 vs 2 are fighting about. It has been estimated that the Pac-2 will still receive about 200 million from Rose Bowl and conference distribution for the next 2 years. There are also about 60 mill in Turney Credits to be paid out in the next 5 years. Subtract the Pac-12 debt and they should still end-up with a substantial bundle of cash even without a media contract.

Rose Bowl yes.  I doubt they are fighting over this years payout.   AT least OSU and WSU have not said that.   They may ask for some withholding to pay off debts and liabilities.

Utah will be highly irrelevant in XII land and methinks you already know this.

You know the funny thing is, Houston claims to be a basketball school right? Some hoops programs do OK in revenue but everyone knows football drives the bus for conferences. Utah has been a football school for 20 years.   We've finished ranked 10 times since 2000.

Any success Utah has in hoops is just gravy. The P12 Utes have made it to the tourney 2 times.  S16, second round. Not good, not terrible.

When B12 Presidents sit down and crunch all the numbers, I wonder how they view that Utah made $76 million in football last year and what that means to a conference and pooled revenue? It will be higher this year.

And when the Presidents look at Houston's football resume in the B12, I wonder if they feel they bought a lemon?

WSU has $200 million in debt and they are going to give cash away?   OSU is lobbying the Oregon legislature to help bail them out due to OU leaving.   So they just pay millions in exit fees and still need deep cuts to our budgets regardless.  Makes perfect sense.

What you say is accurate. However, considering how much those two were backstabbed by UW and UO, I would be surprised if their state legislatures don't come to their financial rescue to a substantial degree.

Houston won a Peach Bowl under Herman and won 12 games in FB under Holgerson. They just got elbowed out of the NY6 by Cincinnati, who made the CFP that year.

Geographically, Houston is set up to succeed... and it's shown that its a good job.

All of the teams that should have been added to the P4, were added. They just need time to grow as a P4.

Houston basketball shows what Houston football is capable of... which is why the Longhorns kept them out all these years.

Stunner,

Weren’t you just busted by mods for having multiple sock puppets?

What are you scared of brother? Why are you hiding? Pretty hard to have any credibility as a spineless coward.

One of his other handles bobcat-whatever it is sure does know a lot about BYU, Utah failing at anything, the PAC 12 failing at anything and how wonderful the B12 is at everything.

Very impressive as a “ Texas State fan”.

Read the last few pages, so it’s safe to assume Oregon St and Wazzu will not be joining the MWC next year? And only if their Indy run fails?

Looks like it.

Geez @Did I hear a WOOSH?, I said your TV ratings against Texas Tech would be 200K. I was wrong. It was a powerhouse # of 270k. Impressive. Your second lowest game of the year… Yikes.

Pretty far off your “890k average” that you claim. This year has been a complete disaster for UCF on the field and in TV watching homes of America.

I don't understand people..the cfb will announce its official changes. And protected independence status is allowed by the courts for the 2 years, so they just have to get in a room, have their discussion, and make their announcement.

The language just states that a forfeiture of board rights automatically occurs if independence/merger/affiliation changes are announced. WSU/OSU can just officially announce now which they already have, more or less, especially after the courts decision.

Whether or not the MWC is involved, or independence is the announcement is inconsequential, it has been announced by the courts.

You can literally copy/paste this whole thread into chatgpt and tell it to write a 3000 word article explaining what happened.

Don't care to look but I'm sure wsu/OSU have made announcements on their platforms.

Keep refreshing the cfb news site for more updates

Keep an ear out for any appeals...

But like I said before, wsu/OSU are off the clock..

cfb meeting will show who exactly the clock is on again

Anyway, that feasibility study should be done easily, Hawaii with the only airplane game to counter balance insurances...what does the money look like with that?

idk about trial periods but I don't like the idea of a split sports conferences..neither will the NCAA..so people just need to make decisions but I guess the actual football is distracting them all lol

but just let the budget decide

Doesn't matter in the long run frankly.  DEION coming in and dumping whole teams is really about the students right?.  Pay then with contracts

In the near future, power leagues will operate separately & share revenue with athletes as part of a reshaped NCAA, a Big Ten AD says. Forced into action by the latest antitrust case, leaders are considering models for The Great Split. “It’s nuclear."

In a timely interview, here's NCAA president Charlie Baker on Meet The Press from Sunday about how "50-70" programs are “dramatically different than the rest.”

Get it over with already so the G5 schools, at least most of us, can get back to some sanity.  There are still over a million kids that play HS football and you can only hoard so many of them in the top 60 or however many make the cut.  Have your boosters go out and pay athletes millions to come play on essentially club teams.  Heck, do they even need to attend class at that point?  It's essentially double A and triple A baseball feeding MLB.  Pay them, win your big games, and be done with it.  Personally i think it's a dumb model.  I also have no doubt that is where P4 is headed.  That magical upset of NMSU over Auburn last Saturday won't be an option in 5 years.  I am totally fine with that.  I'll be just fine watching MWC and CUSA level teams out west.  Hopefully the day P4 separate they announce G5 playoffs.

So you'd force Army and Navy to put all of their sports in the AAC, even if the league (or Army/Navy) doesn't want that?
