What do we do to get the Bobs & Rebels 18 vaccinated.

Recommended Posts

Watched middle aged guy on the news last night, in the hospital recovering from a bad bout of covid. Asked if he should have taken the vaccine he said no since it was still only under emergency authorization with too many unknowns.  Doc mentioned that the drugs that probably saved his life were also only under FDA emergency authorization yet he thought those were ok?   sigh

People can and often cite statements for not getting the vaccine that fall somewhere in the general realm of reasonableness, unfortunately the actual "why" they keep in their little heart of hearts was not based on any reasoning. But that's humans for ya.

I saw this one. He ended up hospitalized with pneumonia due to COVID.

He said even now he wouldn't get the vaccine because the government was pushing an agenda of getting people vaccinated.

To be fair, I would have a lot more respect for a man choosing to forfeit millions because of his beliefs.  We all know he won't be leaving the NFL because of this though lol.

Excluding coverage is emotional rage bullshit, I don't think we want to go down that path.

It is and it isn’t.  If they want to make decisions that drive up healthcare costs is it unreasonable to ask them to bear the costs (with some exceptions of course)

This is a horrible analogy. Smoking is a better one. You want to smoke, that’s fine. You can do it outside where you don’t pollute the air for everyone else in a room. Same with Covid. It’s pretty simple actually.

Smokers pay much higher insurance rates also.

You can say that about anyone that abuses their body including the obese and alcoholics. About 40% of the country is obese and drives up cost for the rest of us that exercise and try and take care of ourselves. My sister in law has been in and out of the hospital twice in the last few years from falling down drunk and injuring herself.

It’s true for smokers and they pay higher insurance costs.  Covid vaxers are the same.  I’m less clear about obesity as it isn’t fully a choice and genetics come into play.

Same could be said for a bunch of other things like smoking, marijuana & other illicit drugs, obesity, heart disease, cholesterol, etc.  The list is endless.  Some of these conditions are hereditary.

Right.  But their is a difference between those things that are clearly 100% within a persons control and those things which have a heredity component.  In fact you could make a better case for anti-vaxers than smokers who are charged extra.

And obese and drunk people use up more hospital space. Drunk people also kill thousands of others every year. How’s that any different?

Drunk people go to jail.  Far harsher than accounting for insurance rates

And excessive alcohol and food consumption. Why do the left self righteous assholes always try and divide people. Rich vs poor, race vs race, now it’s vaxers vs anti vaxers.

Republicans used to feel people should bear the consequences of their decisions.  That seems to have gone by the board in a number of ways.   The cases you cite can in some cases be tied to heredity. Not so with anti-vaxers and exceptions can be made for those with legitimate reasons for not being vaccinated.

Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey on Thursday called out "the unvaccinated folks" for the rise in Covid-19 cases in her state, a remarkable plea at a time when many GOP leaders are refusing to urge people to get vaccinated even as Covid-19 cases surge in many parts of the country.

"Folks are supposed to have common sense. But it's time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks. It's the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down," Ivey told reporters in Birmingham.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
